When I was getting bids for my cabinets, I spoke with Larry Jones at Heartland Furniture out of Arlington. He came highly recommended to me and I was very impressed with him and his work. My building consultant used Heartland for his personal residence. I ended up using someone even more local to my build, but Arlington seems to be a good middle ground for the DFW area.

Two years ago, when I lived in Dallas, I used a custom cabinet maker to do a fireplace surround flanked by bookcases and lower cabinets. He did a very good job and was reasonably priced. I know he does custom closet designs. This has been a few years ago and I don't remember the name of his company, but I know he had a website. Anyway, his name is Randy and his # is 972 998 8544. I apologize, I should have waited until they were done with my kitchen. They aren't AWESOME. DDHR isn't great or terrible. They are just average. If you are looking for a band aid solution, they are fine.

California Closets did do an awesome job on all of my closets, they aren't as expensive as I thought they would be either.
