I would love to see how you incorporate this style in your decorating. Please post any pictures you have.

Thanks

Floorcloths. Have wanted to use it on walls, too, as a way to use spot stencils... not chequers.

Don't have a picture because house is not built yet, BUT. In the guest powder room which is 5' wide by 12' long, I plan to use a large harliquin in deep red flat paint and the same shade of seni-gloss. In the area where each diamond touches, a stenciled musical note with goldleaf paint. Then I plant to frame sheet music and hang my future husband and mine old musical instruments. A banjo and a sxaphone, each with a large gold frame hung to outline them. I know this is a bit "themey" but I think a powder room should have a bit of fun.

No pic, but I painted the cabs in my laundry area in a harlequin pattern.

I'm flirting with the idea of painting a pattern on my hallway, first was planning on just tone on tone stripes, but now may do a harlequin chair rail-type border, too.

I don't have pics either, but a friend had her small sunroom wallpapered in a gray harlequin pattern... I am not a wallpaper person, but that room was one of my favorite rooms ever! (She has since moved.)

I love stuff with a harlequin design.

No pictures to offer, but right now I am looking for a predominately white shower curtain with a strip of gold harlequin pattern on it.

I have thought about making one myself, but am afraid my design would look to amateurish. I'm willing to take a shot at copying, however.

I did this with a tone on tone gold. I painted the room gold then cut out diamonds about 5 inches by 4 and put glaze on top. It was great. Loved it too.

Got the glaze at Micheals. applied it with a paper towel. Made the stensil out of cardboard with 3 diamonds together.

I usually hang out in the kitchens forum, but saw this and thought I would post a link to the bathroom in my previous house:

Right now I'm tempted to order this chair from Overstock for our basement family room. It's so fun. It's $170. Only wish it had arms. Says Harlequin to me.

I painted harlequins on my tv cabinet. I don't have them everywhere in my home, but I like a touch of them here and there. Below is a link.

OMG Mindy! Love your delicious little puppers! Our former neigbors had a full grown harlequin great dane and she was so beautiful.

Summiebee....love the backsplash but could you tell me about your range? I'd love to know the brand...is that a double oven?

Fairytalebaby: It's the Maytag Gemini. Yes it is a double oven and we like it a lot. I only wish that I would have purchased the gas model and had a gas line run. :( I think I prefer gas cooking and the top may be easier to keep clean. The top ove heats up super quickly and is great when you are in a hurry. :) We are working on replacing the other appliance to match it. We just recently purchased the Maytag Ice2O and love it.

Okay, my favorite use of Harlequin in decorating - Robby Gordon's shop in Anaheim (Oh, and exhausted RG..LOL):

Seriously, I love harlequin. I had a powder room done at a friend's house with a faux paint technique that was gold/copper harlequin. It's beautiful.

...and my daughter covets the Great Dane puppy...
