Grohe Ashford Pull-Down-I know looks shouldn't matter BUT

just realized our faucet will be very visable from our family/great room.

Our challenge is the backsplash area isn't very big and although I LOVE the look of the Grohe Brigeford we absolutely need a "locking" sprayer.

The Ashford fits the bill, but look-wise not as impressive as the Bridgeford lol.

I know, I'm being petty, but what do you think of this faucet and most importantly--anyone have one?

It doesn't seem to be a popular one on here.

Hmm. It won't steal the show but it's no dog. I'd have to see everything else to opine on if it goes, but it's nice enough.

We opted for a stainless Ladylux plus that was similar to yours but was selling as low as I have seen Grohe. It has the stem curved over without going real high. I had read that you have to worry about splashing with the tall ones and ours works like a Swiss watch.

    thanks fori!

nerdyshopper--i like the ladylux too. i crossed that off our list b/c i thought it didn't have the locking sprayer? if it does than i will have have consider that one! which model do you have?

Not to offend anyone who has the (popular) Ladylux, but this is way more attractive to ME! :)

I'm considering this Brizo, which does have the locking sprayer

Here is a link that might be useful: Brizo pullout

That Brizo is beautiful! I haven't considered that brand, I'll have to start researching that one too.

Now DH tells me a "locked" sprayer isn't a deal breaker.
We both like the looks of the Ladylux 3 looks (Grohe 32 298 E).
Actually--on our (ancient) Grohe we inhertied from the previous owners, the spray is permantely stuck to "locked" which bugs us. Now we're thinking the "lock" is just another thing that can fail somewhere down the line.
Hmmmm....need to look into this a bit more!

I have had the Brizo Floriana for five years.I love it and the soap dispenser. I had a slab lead in July that caused the whole kitchen to be demolished down to studs. The contractor lost two parts of the faucet. Customer support was fantastic in replacing pieces. Love this faucet (mine is satin nickel).

I love that Brizo faucet; it looks like a swan's head! Thanks...

I fell in love with a high arc Hansgrohe about a year ago. Then I questioned it for a while this summer when I found out the spray didn't lock. I thought hard if this was a deal breaker for me. I know it is for many. I decided I couldn't really see the big deal and will go for looks over function. I did try to find one that I liked the looks of as well, but couldn't. I went for form over perceived unnecessary function on this one. I know I won't regret it.

I also don't like the looks of the Ladylux. So many people like it, but I don't. To each her own!

I think the Ashford is attractive and will hold up design-wise over time.

breezygirl, curious what faucet you got & are you happy with it?

you know dianalo--the ashford is growing on me, just found a GREAT deal on the steel model for $398!!. i'm going down to the plumbins supply store again to check it out.

Jill, I don't have my faucets yet. We're hoping to start framing the new kitchen next week. I'm getting the Hansgrohe High Arc or Talis (they are almost identical and I'm really not sure of the differences), and every time I see a pic or IRL I go aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. ;)

Someone posted a finished very modern kitchen with it just in the last couple weeks. The faucet has very simple, clean lines, which I like. Some of the pulldowns out there have a curvy handle and odd junction with the faucet stem that I see as difficult to clean.

Here's the one I'm getting. This is the Interaktiv, which looks exactly the same as the Talis.

Oh, I love that Hansgrohe! We actually saw it at our local Costco, I think it was under $200? Not sure if it's the exact same model but it looks identical to yours!

I wonder how the heck that would look in our kitchen, since it's more on the traditional side. I'll need to run back there and look at it again. I perfer faucets that look more "simple". That's my problem, all the traditional ones are huge.

The locking spray was a "must have" for me as I use it alot when I'm using two hands to wash/rinse veg, the fry pan splatter-guard screens, quick-defrosting shrimp (sh! don't tell as I know that's a no-no but sometimes I don't plan well), etc. And a pull-down was also a "must" for the same tasks.

But of course YMMV and there's a heck of a lot more choices if it's not a "must"!

Sorry I haven't been watching this thread for a while. I wish this site had the feature of emailing you when someone posts on a thread that you have previously. Well, the Ladylux Plus has a locking spray that swithes back if you turn off the water or if you press the stream button. Ours is all stainless steel. They make one with a plastic hood on the sprayer but we didn't care for that. Ours is mounted between double sinks and the controller is left and right instead of front and back because the sink was too close to the backsplash for the regular mount. Works really well for us. Now we prefer it, but friends are confused by the reverse hot and cold directions on the Grohes.

I'm another one who wanted a locking spray so I went with Kohler. Are you looking for something that looks like the Bridgeford?

The Kohler Clairette has a high arch, but has a more sleek body without the rounded details of the Bridgeford; the Kohler Vinnatta has some similar details but maybe too much?
Top to bottom: Bridgeford, Vinnatta, Clairette

Jill--the Hansgrohe at Costco probably has a loop handle rather than the stick-like one of the one I posted. Also, it is only available in the brushed finish. And wouldn't you know it but I want non-brushed with a stick lever!

My kitchen is not modern, but not traditional exactly either. I think the clean lines of this Hansgrohe are versatile enough to be pared with many styles. I can't wait for mine!

Would you consider the Kraus 2220 or 2210 ? They seem to get really good reviews, and the price is really great.

thanks so much nerdygirl, missmuffett & chicogans!
well, my ashford is on backorder and turns out my cabinets will be delivered in a few weeks - Yikes!--so i can probably forget that one.

I will look into the other faucets you guys mentioned.

I LOVE the Kohler. I was at a plumbing supply store *again* today and one of the plumbers in line touted Kohler. I asked about the Brizo but they only had a limited warranty so he said I'd be better to stick with Kohler. I know, I know - everyone has their own opinions lol! I really like the faucets chicagroans posted and I will definitely check those models out -thank you!
mtnfever, i'm thinking the same--i'll need that locking spray.

missmuffett--a little ot but did you end up with the persa avorio granite? we just made a deposit on ours. curious what you ended up with.

i have no experience at all with Kohler, but I can tell you that I settled on the Grohe after bad experiences with a pull out Moen followed by a pull out Delta, (recommended by our plumber). I did not purchase those from big box stores so they were the mainstream of their lines. Would never consider on of them again.

Yep - I've gone with the persa avorio. I found a slab that we think will be perfect. The cabinets come tomorrow, so I'll have granite shortly thereafter. What finish are you getting your faucet in? I think the granite lends itself well to several and so I'm on the fence.

thanks nerdy shopper for the info! everytime i want into a plumbing supply store all the plumbers i talk to there say "you have to get a grohe!". they also like kohler too, but seems like most slightly prefer the grohe...i suppose b/c of the warranty?

i liked the looks of the bridgeford the most, and after researching on the web last night, it seemed like those with small kitchens (like I have) LOVED the bridgeford.

I went to a plumbing store today and tested out the bridgeford, as well as my original choice--ashford--along with the kohler, & just liked the feel of it much, much better than all the others!

i know it doesn't have the locking spray.
Dh & i realized the most we use the sprayer is a very quick spray to clean the sink, and for rinsing veggies/fruit.

What sold me is how comfortable the spray button is! I found it more so than the ashford i was considering.
I also got a coupon for 12% off from an on-line vendor so my total cost was $428 for the brushed nickel. A bargain!

thanks again everyone, so happy i have one less decision!

missmuffett- i decided on satin nickel, mainly b/c my ss sink is brushed ss and although i love the shiny chrome look i don't want to worry about fingerprints all the time!!
