I don't know where you live, but I just checked the Maine Craigslist and saw this cutie on the bottom left (opened view) and for $45, looks quite nice!

Seller says "drop leaf mahogany is 21'' long 17'' wide and 22'' tall that is when it is open very nice 45.00 thank you"

I saw something taller (sofa table) in oak in unfinished furniture store. I can check if they have it in coffee table height - sofa table was $240. Maybe if I can get the manufacturer name and model you can find a store near you that has it/can order it? Can you finish it yourself?

forboystoo......thank you so much for all your ideas. I guess I am leaning more toward very simple lines. I love the last table you posted, but the claw feet are too intricate for me.
