Anyone used SW Quietude or Rainwashed?

Hi all- We're starting a major master bath remodel and I'm starting to think about the color I'm going to paint the new bathroom. We're going with very dark stained cherry cabinetry (KraftMaid Mandolay cherry with Kaffe finish), a warm beigey ceramic stone-like tile (Noce if that helps), with countertops still TBD, although they'll probably be on the lighter beige side (I'm really liking Silestone Yellow Nile in leather finish, but want to look at some granites too).

The bathroom adjoins my bedroom, where the walls are a pretty neutral warm beige/tan (Duron Sienna Sand) and the fabrics are a mix of greeny aqua, tan, and chocolate brown. The furniture is mostly some shade of darker stained wood.

I could play it safe and go with more Sienna Sand (or some related color) in the bathroom (that's what it is now), but I like the idea of carrying some of the aqua from the other room into the bath. Nothing too minty, so I'm looking at SW Quietude and Rainwashed, which look like they could be on the right track. I'll probably buy samples to test, but am trying to narrow the field a bit. If you've used either color, I'd sure appreciate any feedback or thoughts you may have.

Thanks!

My DD is an Interior Designer and she has used both of these colors a few times. Everyone loved them. I will see if she has any pics. for you.

We painted our Master bedroom SW7621 Silvermist and we absolutely love it. I sampled SW Quietude too but in the end picked Silvermist.

Hope this helps. I work in the natural stone industry in purchase and would be glad to answer any questions that you may have about granites

    Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback - caminnc, I'd love to see any pics if your DD has them!

I haven't used any of them, but SW Sea Salt looks very pretty, a light robin's egg blue. I could picture that in a bathroom with the dark cabinetry. Then bring in the Sienna Sand color in the towels. Brown, cream and blue. A lightened version of your MBR's colors of Aqua, tan and chocolate. Yum!

I have Quietude in our master bedroom and bath. It changes color all day long. In the morning, in less light (the room is in the northwest corner of our house) it is almost gray. In the late afternoon, with lots of sunshine, it is almost aqua. I put chocolate brown carpet in and it is really nice. A friend of mine suggested the color. She said she had put it in at least two of her bedrooms, in two different houses. I mean she put it in one bedroom, then liked it so much, she repeated that in her next house. Here are some photos and if you want to see more, go to my blog and just scroll through. I think I have posted quite a few as we work on the house.

I was going to use Rainwashed in my bathroom but due to the lack of any natural light, I chose the lightest shade on the card, Window Pane. Hopefully this picture will help a little.

i have quietude in my master bedroom and it's beautiful - everyone compliments that color. I have sw blonde in adjoining rooms and it goes together nicely. i wish i had pictures convenient for you...

Im sorry I dont have pictures but I painted my Master Bedroom and Bathroom in Rainwashed. It is a subtler blue with a hint of green. Very soothing and goes beautifully with chocolate drapes, blue and chocolate bedding. In the spring and summer months I use cream drapes and a cream matelaisse coverlet.

I did sample Quietude and it is a beautiful color. I would suggest getting the Color To Go sample jugs from Sherwin Williams, paint sample boards and live with them a few days. Good luck:)

Thanks for the photos and advice! Actually, I'm glad I asked because now I think I may be better off sampling Rainwashed and Window Pane. minnt, your photos are beautiful but I'm thinking Quietude may be a little more vibrant than I want to go in my bathroom, considering the lighting.

I'll try to share photos once it's all put together (demo of the old bathroom starts Monday - yay!)

kmcg85 - thanks for going to all the trouble to track down the photos of Sea Salt. Will definitely sample this too - what a soothing color!

Me! ME! My friend has Quietude in her library. It is one of the most soothing, beautiful colors. She paired it with a dark leather sofa, white trim and then painted the back of her bookcases Spice from Devine paints. It is a goregous room..of which I have no pictures to share :( In my experience it reads much less vibrant then the pics posted here. Maybe lighting difference.

The painters are painting my master bed & bath Quietude next week...

I will be painting part of a nursery in quietude soon. I'll post pics when done

My Mom used Quietude in the LR/DR -- really gorgeous! It is far more subtle than the photos posted above in her home. Don't rule it out!

I looked at my sample of Quietude and it's seems to me to be a tad on the blue/green side. In the above post it looks much more blue - almost light turquoise. I had pulled this color strip to repaint my bedroom because I love the RH Silver Sage colors, and these reminded me of them - just in several shades. Those who have this or have seen it, does it remind you of Silver Sage?

You've got to love this forum!
I just narrowed my master bedroom color down to Quietude and was so encouraged when I searched and found that so many of you have positive experiences with it.
I am thinking of painting one wall in quietude and the other 3 walls either rainwashed or window pane, the next two lighter shades on the chip.

I have had Quietude as an accent wall in my LR and Kitchen for 10 years. I still love it. A friend painted her LR with it too. I'm moving and will use Quietude in my LR & DR with Rainwashed in another room. I love these colors. I get so many compliments. Pretty at any time of day.
