Depends on what you have? I would weed out the brightly colored more modern stuff.....and keep the heavier simpler more "rustic" stuff....and a bit of lacy glass and milk glass too.
My house is prettyw ell traditional antiques....and I have a line up of antique clear glass children's mugs and punch cups backed with old flint cup plates on the sashes of my windows in the liming room and diningroom. The den has shelves partially full of books and partially full of antique glass. I have grouped according to color....i.e. a small group of blue glass.....another of cranberry, a few pieces of green, some amber....all mixed with clear to separate the groupings. None of the glass on display contains anything....no flowers, no plants no twigs no colored stones. But I will often use a piece from the display to hold a flower or some candy as part of another arrangement.
Would love to see pictures. I have no good pictures of the glass in the windows.....ever try to take pictures of clear glass set in a window? LOL!

You and Linda sound like me! My advice to you now is don't get rid of any of your glassware. Box them up because more than likely you'll see a picture of what you have and want to display it again.

I have a semi-large collection of depression glass, and I'm in the process of boxing up a lot of it.

Linda's right though, keep individual colors in their own grouping.

Linda, in the middle of one of my bookshelves I have an old, one gallon clear glass creamer jar (?) full of old buttons. I bought it with the buttons for only a buck!
