Tearing my hair out, looking for pulls

I'm on the hunt for cabinet pulls in oil rubbed bronze, not polished or satin nickel. I don't want the highlighted bronze with copper accents or the other variations out there. I want to find pulls in a lovely matte, solidly colored dark bronze. I'm finding all kinds of pulls that I love but when I go to find them in a finish other than nickel, I'm almost always disappointed. The only 2 pulls that I found that I liked, that felt good and were in a finish I liked were $15 and $22 each. OUCH! Serves me right for marching to my own drummer (again).

This is for my bathroom but I know I'll have the same issues when it comes to the kitchen.

Please help! Tell me where to go to find a good selection of decent pulls in classic designs (nothing too fancy) in ORB. Please help me to stop feeling like a square peg in a round holed world.

If all else fails, I can always go with satin nickel but I much prefer ORB on medium stained QS oak.

TIA!

Lisa, Can't help, but I feel your pain. Don't give up! I have been searching for pulls for my kitchen for months, ok fine, a year. I'm this close to having them custom made.
I had a dream that one morning I walked into the kitchen and DH had drilled a hole in the center of each drawer and put a long screw in it to use as a handle. I don't dare tell him and give him an idea. Good luck with the search, and don't settle!

Hard to know how to help without knowing where you've been. I found mine at Lee Valley Tools (in satin nickel mind you) and found they had more than enough selection. Here's a link to their online catalog "classic" pulls. Good luck!

Pulling my hair out, looking for tears?

don't pull your hair out - then you'll have to look for a wig also!

I looked for almost a yr. I finally settled on one that I liked, came in long enough with enough projection for my chubby fingers, ORB and a price I could accept. It took a lot of looking tho.

It wasn't my first choice tho - not by a longshot.

Check out Baldwin Brass - they have oil rubbed bronze on most of the pulls.
They also carry a couple other brands of pulls in the store - I didn't see them on the webpage.

I have been working with the Baldwin Brass Center in West Reading. Their website is baldwinbrasscenter.com and phone is 1-800-358-2469. They seem to offer good prices on Baldwin and shipping is free if you spend enough (I forget the exact amount but I bought some CIA pots and they shipped for free)
They also have a big sale each year if you hit it just right!
I am also getting my Waterstone faucet through them.

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!!

The Knob Shop is an ebay store and they also have a store in Walker, MI. Their prices are VERY reasonable! They sell 3 different finishes of ORB and 1 finish is ORB with dark, matte finish (no highlights)! I ordered some knobs and pulls and I got free shipping since I ordered over 25 items. When I received them, they were very nice. However since my cabinets have a dark walnut stain, the matte finish blended in too much and I thought a highlighted finish would look better. I returned them hassle free, I just had to pay for return shipping. I shipped them back in the same small flat rate box for around $6.

The owners are very nice. You can call or email them and they will help you find what you are looking for (if you don't see it in their online catalog).

I've done a lot of research on cabinet hardware. ORB varies SO much and it is often hard to tell what kind of finish is in the picture. The Knob Shop specifies the type of ORB finish the item has which is very helpful.

    HTH, Good luck! :)

Wow, thanks, everyone! I'm off to peruse through all of these sources to see what I can find. I was feeling so discouraged yesterday but I'm feeling hopeful today.

    Thank you!

Hope you've already found what you're looking for. Just in case, we buy all of our hardware at Kitchen-cabinet-hardware.com. They have TONS of ORB (one of my favorite finishes!) that are so pretty. Most of them are only a couple of dollars, so you will definitely find what you're looking for. Good luck (and, yes, no pulling out hair!)

You have probably seen pics of mine, but I wanted to say that I really like them. They are Amerock Highland. The price ass included with our cabs, but I am pretty sure they are not as pricy as some others out there.

We were able to find Atlas at good discounts. Linked below is the "bronze" page. Our pull says its $15, but I'm pretty sure we paid $8 - just saying that they are findable cheaper.

    Another to try ... http://cabinetknob.com/

Type in ORB in search bar at upper right. The pulls with that finish on that website all end ORB. Unfortunately, the search will also return all of the corbels they carry, LOL.
