I don't have that wood combo. in my house, but you mentioned that you have a gray commode/shower, so I'm thinking that the gray, plus the peppercorn finish on the vanity would look fabulous with white trim. Would you entertain the possibility of painting just the trim in that room white? What color is your ceramic tile?

I had the same idea as pam, and think the dark wood with the white trim would look so much more elegant. Somehow I'm not able to visualize oak as a part of that equation.

Thanks for the responses! Our ceramic tile is a blue/gray. My problem with painting the trim is that it's also all the doors etc. in the house -- and I just don't want to go there! I'm actually now considering Kraftmaid's Chestnut in Maple -- the granite top would have black, gray and a very little brown in it. Found an inspiration piece in a great shower curtain I found a TJ Maxx on Friday, it's starting to take shape in my mind at least.

I just did that. Oak trim throughout my house (hate it). Redoing master bath and painted it RH Silver Sage and painted the window/baseboard trim white and the inside door white. Door was stained oak. Left the oak side facing the bedroom and painted white the inside facing the bathroom.

Looks really nice. White sink, vanity and shower tiles. Spa looking. Grey looks so nice with dark trim or white.
