Want to view Safavieh rugs in person before ordering online

In looking for an 8 foot square area rug for a small dining room I came across the Savavieh Lyndhurst area rug collection on various websites such as Overstock and Rugs Usa. The rugs are very low priced because they are made of polypropalyne but they seem very attractive. Some places ship for free but it is very expensive to return them and there are 8 rugs that I am interested in. Has anyone ordered from that collection. I am just concerned that they will look cheap but for an 8 foot square that I might not have use for if I should move, the price is right. Any suggestion or experience with Safavieh polypropalyne?

One handy tip people use is to order the accent rug size-- it is far less expensive to ship back.

We've had a Safavieh rug in the foyer at our vacation place in the mountains for over 15 years. It still looks great. We bought it at Orvis - and no one suspects that it's made out of poly.

Did you go to Saravieh's web site? You can select dealer locator and type in your zip code - maybe someone near you carries the one you want. We just bought 2 polypropylene area rugs on sale at Macy's for our enclosed porch. I've also seen them at the big box stores.

I have an 8 x 8 Safavieh rug from Rug Studio but it is wool. I love it but it still sheds terribly. The poly won't shed at all. I am very pleased with the quality of the rug.

Thank you for your suggestions. Neither Lowes or Home Depot has them in stock but Lowes can order them for me but has no sample of them. I cannot find a brick and mortar store that sells them and the Safavieh store in Glen Cove didn't want to order them for me as it was too much paperwork and too many rugs to bring over from the warehouse, I was told. If I wind up getting an 8x10, would it look terrible to only have 5 inches of wood beyond the area rug?

shelly, i dont know about your specific safavieh rugs, but i have seen safavieh brand rugs at my local TJ Max Homegoods store. if you have one nearby, it might be worth checking out.

I bought 2 of the Savavieh Lyndhurst rugs from Overstock....a runner and a 3x5. It's a nice rug but it is only .37" thick. We have it in a hall and placed a pad under it to give it more heft. The color is nice but the cream does have a yellow tint to it, something that's not that noticeable unless you have something cream colored nearby.
I've also purchased some of their wool rugs and have been very happy with them.....they're much thicker than the poly.

Here is a link that might be useful: The rugs I bought
