Our downstairs hallway, foyer, bath, and stairwell will all be painted BM Harbor Gray. Harbor Grey is a warm gray that looks beautiful with our walnut stained hardwood floors and stained trim.

Here's my issue- The Harbor Gray color does not look good with the tan wall-to-wall carpeting in the upstairs hallway. I'd like to paint the upstairs hallway a neutral ivory, beige, or beigey-gray that compliments both the tan carpet and the Harbor Gray stairwell. Any ideas?

I tried a sample of BM Manchester Tan on the walls and it looks terrible! would love any ideas!!!
