Reposting of wall color and window covering help with pictures

Could someone please help me select a wall color and window covering for my den? The room is 11x13 with a pair of double hung windows (78 inches wide by 66 inches high) on the 13 foot wall and a set of French doors (60 inches wide by 83 inches high) on the 11 foot wall. Flooring will be butterscotch hardwood and trim woodwork is natural Oak. The only furniture I have for the room is a pair of black cherry leather wingback recliners. I will be adding a wall unit. Also may add the chair shown in the pictures. I was originally looking for a neutral tan color. During my search I decided to try a color to bring out the black cherry color in the chairs (unless in direct sunlight they appear black). Finally selected number SW 6023. The wall is currently BM Linen.

I'm afraid to continue painting with this color. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you thought about a green like SW Hearts of Palm?

I was thinking a green too - green looks nice with the woodwork and seems like it would go with your furnishings. Maybe BM Flowering Herbs or Baby Turtle?

Perky, is Hearts of Palm the color shown with the chair? The color appears deeper on my screen then on the paint chip.
Polkadots, without natural light BM Flowering Herb looks gray. Have you used this color and was it your experience?
Thank you both for offering suggestions.

The colors on monitors often look off. I always paint poster boards to test colors so I can move them around the room.

I have not actually used Flowering Herb. I've seen it suggested here. I know a lot of people have Baby Turtle and Flowering Herb is one shade lighter on the strip - I thought you might like a lighter color for some reason. I am linking a current post that shows a room with Baby Turtle, it is a pretty color.

    Chocolatedrop,
I have tested with Flowering herbs and it is a beautiful (and chameleon color). It was too light for my area. I thought I could post a picture of one of my test areas, but I must have deleted most of the pictures. The one I have shows it to be a very neutral type of color. I'm not sure it would be that helpful.
There is one picture of it in the Gallery under greens. I also still have my test board and I'd be happy to take a picture of it next to my Baby Turtle if you're interested.
Polkadots linked to my room in Baby turtle . Those pictures were taken at night and so this is the most intense and yellowed that the color ever looks. In some lights it gets quite a bit more muted. If you are considering this color, I would be happy to post more pictures of it. Did you say what direction your room faces?

    Chloe,
The den has west exposure. There are duette shades at the window and they are rarely opened (we only use the room in the evening).
I would really love to see a picture of Baby Turtle and Flowering herbs together. Thanks for your help.

I have no idea if this is something you would like, but having lived with this in our powder room for about a month I love BM Carolina Gull.

    chocolatedrop.
Here are the pictures. I like the Baby Turtle best at night. It gets a little more yellow. Sometimes in the day,(usually just in the afternoon) it gets a little murky for my taste. My room faces east.
The little square on the lower left of the sample board is another color. I think all of the colors on this strip look rather neutral, but when you get a whole room, they definitely read green, at least in my house.

    Perky, Polkadots and Chloe,
Thanks for the pictures and suggestions. The pictures were very helpful. I think that I will go with Baby Turtle.

jmfromil, your Carolina Gull is a lovely color. If I survive this project maybe I will use it somewhere else.

I really like the white trim with the Baby Turtle paint. Would it look strange to paint only the wall molding, and trim around the windows and the french doors? This would leave the windows and french doors in natural oak. What would I have to do to the trim before painting? Good idea or bad idea? (DH thinks it is bad.)

Any input or comment is welcome.

Just to show you what the rose paint would look like carried out on the walls...

Oceanna, thanks for showing the color. I love the color but don't think it is going to work with the woodwork. Because I am definately color challenged I am depending on this site to give me color help.

We built the house and choose cabinets, countertops, and woodwork while living out of state. When I had a decorator in to help with colors and window treatments she had a fit about the choices I had made. I painted everything BM Linen and finally had window treatments made elswhere. I am ready for color, but very nervous.

Have you looked at the baby turtle picture in the Gallery under greens ? There is a night picture of it with stained woodwork. From the picture that woodwork seems to be a little more orange than your.
