Yes, they pull straight out on the diagonal. The hardware is Blum, so one just grabs either knob and pulls and out it comes. Easy. If you don't want the bevel on the corners of the face (if you have veneer, for instance), Blum also makes a device that draws the faces together before the drawer opens. Check the Blum website for more info on that. With the bevels, there's no magic. It just opens. I LOVE the corner drawers. The pie cut super susans in the old kitchen worked fine but I still hated them.
