Help me choose between these 2 colors!

I am trying to decide on a color to paint my dining room! The bottom half of the wall will be board and batten painted in SW Moderne White. I have narrowed the colors for the top half of the wall down to SW Plum Brown and SW Homburg Gray...

The other colors visible from the dining room are:

Foyer- SW Jogging Path
Kitchen- B. Moore Meditation
Study- SW Mountain Road

I love both color options! Which color do you see looking better with the others or just looking better period? I'd like to see what some others opinions are! Thanks!

Both are very nice but my vote would be for Homburg Gray because it flows so nicely with your other colors. Be sure to show us whatever you decide :-)

If you want the walls of your home to take a beautiful backseat then I would also do the Homburg Gray.

If you're looking for something to be a focal point or stand out then I woud do the Plum Brown.

My preference is take a backseat because you have a wonderful range of colors going on and I'd hate to 'interrupt' it.

    Both are pretty colors though!

    JP/Jogging Path - GY/Green-Yellow Hue Family
    MR/Mountain Road - GY/Green-Yellow Hue Family
    M/Meditation - G/Green Hue Family

    HG/Homberg Gray - BG/Blue-green Hue Family
    PB/Plum Brown - RP/Red Purple Hue Family

JP, MR, M + HG. Hue families are GY, G, and BG. This combination works because color-wheel-wise hue families are right next to each other.

JP, MR, M + PB. Hue families are GY, G, and RP. This combination works because Plum Brown from the red-purple hue family is a complement to Meditation from the green hue family.

Keep in mind, in architectural paints there is a 10 step color wheel, not a typical 12 step so the color relationships align differently.

Bottom line is both colors work with the existing color scheme - comes down to preference and which one looks best in the room. You are definitely on the right track because the existing color scheme could use an additional color like Homberg or Plum Brown to 'round it out' and make it more cohesive, interesting.

What would your wall art and frames (and any other accessories) look best on? Drapes? Wood tones? Rug? ...

I don't have any wall art, accessories, or drapes. Our home is a new construction so I'll be purchasing everything in this particular room new. I should have noted that the floors in this room will be hardwood stained Dark Walnut.

I personally LOVE the plum brown but I'm beginning to think that it will "break up" the rooms, rather than allow your eye to move easily through the house when you enter. I guess I just wanted to hear that from someone else! Picking paint colors has definitely been the hardest decision I've had to make in building this house!

Whichever color I choose, I will post pictures when it's completed! I'd love to hear some more opinions/suggestions though!
