Need some advice on cabinet hardware please.. help me pick

My kitchen will have 2 36" drawer stacks and one 36" apron sink cab with 2 doors below. For the two 36" drawers I"m thinking of using one of these from Top Knobs in the 9"

Square

or Tapered :

I would use the same pull but in smaller sizes on my other drawer stacks. a roughly 7" one on the 30" drawer stack and a 3 3/4 one on the 18" drawer stack.

On the sink doors, the door for my corner susan, and a door on a 12" deep 15" cab I'm torn between:

I'll figure it out the larger pulls... I'm leaning toward the tapered one cause it's still chunky but a little softer looking then the square, but for the knobs which do you like? Is the squareish one too funky? Actually, I like funky so lets go with impractical. Lemme know what you all think. AND... do I have my size selections right for the size of the drawer stacks. Should I be changing the size of the pulls according to the width of the drawer stacks?

Tapered with knob #1 is my vote.

Personally I *love* that first squareish pull, btw!

On knobs I like the first one, but it does have a little bit of a retro feel, so I think it depends on whether that's a look you're going for or not. The square one seems like it could be uncomfortable to use, but hard to say without trying it in person. (I also admit that we ordered one each of about a dozen pulls before settling on ours---and it helped immensely to see them in person!) Your sizes sound fine---we have 3.5" pulls and they're perfect on the 18" stacks and too small on the 27" stack (though we used it there anyway b/c DH didn't like the effect of having two there).

We tried 'samples' on the cabinets before making final choice. We discovered that what looked awesome in a catalog, computer screen & at the store looked totally different when actually 'on' the doors and drawer fronts. We also tried out how they 'fit' in each of our hands. The ones we thought we liked the most 'fit' weird when operating the drawers and doors and would smear 'finger-dirt' all over the cabinet doors and drawer fronts.

I really like the tapered pull and the 1st knob you posted. I'm not one for hard lines though, I like things a little softer.

(I don't "get" the last picture though. is that a knob? I have never seen anything like that.)

    Tapered and Knob #1.

The last picture they have it tilted in the photo. I don't know why. It would be squared up vertically against the cabinet and sticking out. Now that I look at knob #1... I like the "roundness" of it's body. Kinda reminds me of the shape on the possum belly drawers of the bakers table. That table has somewhat elongated cup pulls BTW. A more contemporary version of one I guess.

I get it now, thanks :)

And I went back to your post yesterday with your doors and chandelier and I think the first pull you pictured matches the straight lines of the chandy arms. I'm not sure how matchy-matchy you want to be, but I do think that first pull compliments the chandy better then the tapered one. But me, personally, I still like the tapered one better :)

I like the tapered and the last knob (just to throw you a curve ball). Not sure how easy that last knob is to use though... you should try some!

I guess I'm ordering me some samples!!!

I really like the tapered pull as well. And I'm biased on the knobs because I ordered the first one to try out. Something about it's curves too!

    Good luck!

I like the tapered pull and the middle knob. :o)

I think i'm in a minority here, but I really like #2. I would definitely order samples. I don't know about you, but I am a tactile person. A good knob should feel right. (OMG that sounds sooooo wrong. I hope you know what I mean).

research queen... you made me LAUGH!!!!!

I highly second the "get one of each and see how they both feel and look in person" suggestions. The ones I loved the look of felt horrible and didn't look right held up against the cabinets at all. One of the other ones I liked alot felt great and looked great with the cabinets. It is somewhat of a combination between your tapered and your square edge...but with a fuller "foot". Check out the Atlas A826 if you want to see what we have selected. I think I have purchased about 7 different pulls to find the right one for us. Good luck!

Tapered and #1 knob. The tapered just looks more comfortable to me, although the more squared pull or the one from Atlas that contemporganic recommended would reflect the lines of your chandy better.

Research Queen, I almost choked on my hot cocoa, lol!

    Hi remodelfla,

We just put the square pull and the first knob in our kitchen!! I love them, love the combo. Let me know if you'd like some pics.

OH YES YES YES... pretty please!

I like both but think pull 2 matches knob 1, and pull 1 goes with knob 2 best. I would like to see the photos of the square knobs too, they look cool.

Here's the link to my completed kitchen post. There are several pics in there... also make sure to scroll thru the whole thing cause there's a pic of the closeup on the knob. I hope these help. I can take some more if you want them, lmk!

hellonasty... thank you so much for posting those. Your kitchen looks fantastic. I think we have a very similar feel going on. Slab fronts, clean lines, even the type of hood, and even the backsplash. Mine will be 4x12 glass. I do love how the knobs/pulls look and think I'm going to order a sample of each pictured.

You're welcome, glad I can help. Can't wait to see your kitchen, and I think the 4x12's are gonna look amazing! I was able to see a Top Knob samples board in the store I bought my cabs from, which was extremely helpful. To see them in person is really important, methinks.

Very excited to see your kitchen when it's complete, good luck!
