What do you like best about kitchen design?

Many times(okay a lot!)I want to post a question about this, that, or the other thing- but don't because I'm afraid I may wear you all out with my ramblings, seemingly silly questions, ideas, and thoughts! =)There is SO MUCH to kitchen design.

What questions do you love to answer? What questions do you wish people would just do a search for? Do you love them all? I find them all interesting and helpful in their own right, but often wonder about the people who post a question and never again respond to their own post? Where do they go?

I love the FKB but often get distracted by the whole package and forget I was looking for lighting ideas, pull sizes, flooring....!I'd love a spot in the gallery for pic's with names for countertops only, hardware only, sinks, wall color, flooring, hoods, appliances, cabinet bells and whistles etc. Is there one? Have I missed it?

There is a categories page accessed via the "FKB Categories" link in the navigation bar on the right of any FKB entry. It will take you to a page where you can access kitchens via:
    Categories: Formatted List

    Categories: Cloud by Alphabet
    Categories: Cloud by Frequency

I think the biggest thing I wish people would do b/f posting their first question, especially if asking for layout help, is read the "Read Me" thread. It's rarely beyond the second page, although I do try to keep it on the first page. (When I was a newcomer, I read many, many pages b/f I posted my first question...and there was no "Read Me" thread back then!)

Please, everyone, if you see the "Read Me" thread on the second or later page (or even if it's the last thread on the first page)...BUMP it!!!

I know I found the "read me" thread very helpful. It gave me a deeper insight to what really lay ahead, and topics I needed to consider before even looking at cabinets!

Thanks Buehl for the tutorial for FKB. I guess I didn't dig deep enough!

Never ending- My favorite posts are two different kinds. One is when people post their floor plans, asking for help. I'm always impressed at the interesting, well thought out, creative answers from all the posters.

My other favorite type of posts, usually involve Boxerpups and others, who somehow find the most AMAZING and beautiful kitchen photos. A picture really can be worth a thousand words :)

I like the variety and new ideas. I love the kitchen porn, and the new appliances and colors. I like the three dimensional challenge of the layouts. I like the odd shapes best. I like the personal stories of challenges overcome.

I'm not so fond of the interface. When I start a topic and try to check it after a few days, it can be very difficult to find the topic if it is off the front page. It would be easier if I had it all sent to my email, but I can't afford the time to check personal email each day. Even if I search on my name, I get everything I contributed to, which obscures my own topics.
