What state are you in? Do you have any more pictures or close ups of the details? My guess would be Federal, but... it doesn't have a fanlight over the door and the windows look more Italianate than Federal.

Federal went through some modifications at the end of its era. I have an 1820s-1830s house and in fact believe it to be two houses, built at different times and connected. It looks very like this and has some details specific to the Federal era and that clinched it for me that this was as close to Federal as any other style. Aside from modern alterations, is your house a basic two over two?

    Hi,
The wide eaves, 2-over-2 windows, bay windows say Italianate Victorian.
The narrow lap siding is indeterminate.
The double french doors look like 1920's. Door surround could be much earlier, but I'd need to see the molding profiles up close.
The three-bay facade is perfect for Federal.
To sum up, it was modernized in the 1870-80 period, then once again in the last century. The frame is probably 1820's.

I'd have to go along with Victorianized Federal if it was built in the 1820's. Similar houses, but without the bay windows were being built in the 1850's and 60's. The bays push the remodel, or add a second remodel into the 1870's.

Through the years I've seen examples of Georgian houses redone into Queen Annes or Franch mansards and changed back to "Colonial" in the 1920's, 30's or 40's. People like to modernize their older homes, which sometimes makes it difficult for folks who come around 100 odd years later to figure out what's what.

Thank you so much for your responds I will attach more pictures so you guys can see the molding and much more. It has been crazy for me and my husband, we bought this house over a year ago, and we have done nothing to it, the house was vacant for over 2 years and now we are trying to bring it back to life, the house has 5 Beds 1 full bath and 2 half baths, before I found this website we were thinking on replacing all windows, for what I have read that will not be the best idea.
I also would like to know if you guys have any input on what kind of siding should we do, right now we have clapboard, and its all run down and damage either from termites or water, I notice a lot the historic house around me have vinyl but im not sure if that will be ideal on a house so old.

    Thanks
