Without seeing the space and how it is laid out it is hard to say. I would consider a wallpaper - it appears the style you are going for is more contemporary.

The powder room is about 50 sq ft. with the toilet and sink side by side and a custom storage cabinet opposite them. I live in southwest Florida and prefer paint over wallpaper.

Your floors are fairly neutral... So basically choose a color you love!! Here in the north east I may have chosen a rich chocolate, but in FL you probably want something with more life and intensity. If you send along colors you love (i.e. reds, greens, blues) I can forward a BenMoore paint selection.

Now I do think that your bathroom can be so much more exciting than just a solid paint color!......

Consider this, drop in an additional molding detail, a simple astragle molding along the wall 9" off the ceiling below the crown molding. Paint the 9" of wall, crown & ceiling all one color, the walls below another. Accent your trim with a third color. Add some bold large art work & and very cool sconces and you've got an amazing space!

Think of this powder room as a beautiful gift package just ready to be opened, as the bathroom door is opened, you want blow everyone's socks off!!

Here is an example of a more neutral buttery tone on the walls.

Lisa - I could play it safe and do the cream and neutral tones with beautiful dark trim. That was my first idea. But I am intrigued by your recommendations. I've used cobalt blue in my living room and it's stunning. In it's former life, the powder room had white subway tiles on the wall and hideous Mexican tile on the floors. I painted the walls a Moroccan blue and the floors disappeared. And guests loved the bathroom - crisp white against that brilliant blue. Since blue is my first love, what color(s) would you recommend for the 9" of wall, crown and ceiling, the walls below it and then the trim?
