apron front sink faucets...let's play a game

It's Friday night, hubby's away (not gonna worry his sweet self over what choices need to be made for our kitchen remodel) and I've had a glass or two of wine to aleviate the stress. I'm currently focusing on choice of faucets for Shaw's apron front sink. Two hours ago I was manic over tile choices, but I digress. It's the wine I'm sure. My game here is for those of you with apron front/farmhouse sinks. What do you like, what do you really DISLIKE about your faucet choice? Come on, confess. I am a bit concerned about making sure the faucet is long enough to suit my purposes. Every other facuet I have had was mounted in the sink itself, but with a Shaw's (my first), I guess it will have to be mounted back on the countertop surface which will make it even shorter coming into the sink itself. Am I making any sense? Any one out there wishing they had a little more length? And I'm talking about faucets here! Think I'll have one more glass of Chardonnay and anxiously await your pros and cons in regards to FAUCETS. I'm also enjoying watching Andy Griffith at the moment. Couple nights ago I was even studying Aunt Bea's kitchen for some inspiration...I'm not kidding!!!

Thanks from pupwhipped and please excuse any typos as, well, you know.......it's Friday night.

ah geeez, it's now Saturday night and not even one response. Doesn't anyone want to play my game?? Am I on the wrong forum? Okay, you don't have to post your cons, but at least someone please post their faucet pros. Would even like to know WHY you chose your particular faucet and if it has lived up to your expectations. Come on, let's play. And as for the faucet cons, ya know, confession is good for the soul.....and helps others not make the same mistake. TIA from pupwhipped.

I'd love to play but I don't have an apron front sink. :( I wish I did (I can play that game right? I wish I had .... but DH nixed it...) But I just didn't want you to feel alone. :)

I can't really answer your question because our reno has not started yet but I can show you the faucet I have chosen to go with my Shaw apron front sink. I did not put nearly as much thought in to it as you are, but I chose it because I love the look.

We're nearly done with our remodel, but haven't yet had a chance to use the sink & faucet. We were more concerned with the look of the faucet, and this is what we chose. See link below. Good luck with your decision! Perhaps if they served wine at the plumbing supply, we would have thought about it a bit more . . .

Thank you all!!!!! At least you played and that's what counts. donna and eastender, those are fabulous choices and, well, really, they're facuet art! I hope you love them. Buffettgirl, I had a thought about you in the middle of the freakin night awhile back....too, funny. I DON'T sleep and random, thoughts just come into my mind. I had always thought you were "buffetgirl." Ya know, like the all you can eat Chinese buffet? Guess I thought that cause it was somewhat kitchen related. In the middle of the night it came to me that it is "BUFFETTgirl." I'm not kiddin. So now I assume you are a Jimmy Buffett fan and not an "all you can eat" fan. HA!!! My name is as it seems, I have six dogs and they whoop my butt on a daily basis. Thanks to you all for playing my game.

I have a faucet by Concinnity. The company went out of business! I picked it because I like it's style, it has two handles and a side spray and it is oil rubbed bronze. It works well, and doesn't splash. The faucet covers a large part of the sink and the sprayer covers the rest.

bump... let's see what faucets others have chosen for their apron front sinks.

ANother who hasn't used their "set up" yet. Our sink is a Franke (Villeroy and Bosh) double bowl apron front. My counter tops come Wednesday so next week at this time I can probably give you at least a minimally informed opinion.

We chose the American standard culinaire bridge faucet with a side sprayer. Mostly for looks!

oooooh, I'm lovin all these faucets! Ya know, I want to go with a bridge look, but I also want an Instant hot and a soap dispenser so thought it would just be way too many holes. One comment I will make on the faucet set-up I've had for the last 15 years (not in an apron sink, though)) is that the holes were set a little close together in retrospect. It looks okay, I guess, but is a bit hard to clean around. Guess I threw out the first con in this game, though not about an apron front faucet. Well, while I'm at it, here's maybe one more. I love my Instant hot and wouldn't be with out it, but I think we've replaced it twice in 15 years. Yikes! But, we finally figured out it needed a softener thing attached to it. We have extremely hard water and since we added the softener, it's been fine.

yes, pupwhipped...I am a Jimmy Buffett girl. If I liked the all you can eat, I'd be a buffet girl. And fat. LOL...easy mistake. :)

I have a Rohl bridge faucet atop my Shaw Apron Fireclay Sink. I haven't been using it for long so its not fair of me to give a review. But I will say that it swivels and reachs most parts of the sink. I was concerned about not having a side spray making it difficult to clean but I don't think that will be an issue now that Im using it. Since my sink is in the island, it was very important that the faucet look really attractive from all angles. But now that I have installed, I see its very functional too.
