I have a piece of wood furniture that I tried to paint. First I sanded the piece to make sure that the gloss finish was removed. I then primed it and then painted it with a latex paint. I then used a poyurthane to seal it and give it a shine. None of it stuck to the piece.

The paint is pealing off of it. Could anyone tell me why or what I did wrong? Also I am looking for information on how to prevent this from happening to me again in the future. Is there something else I can use that will stop that from happening on all types of furniture wood and

non-wood. Any information would help.
