Cabinet painter in Westchester County NY? Cabs wrong color!

Hi, all.

I took delivery of some beautiful custom cabinetry on Friday, but they are the wrong color - almost butter instead of a creamy white (long story as to how this happened). They were made in PA, and cabinet maker doesn't want to come back to redo them and would rather pay me to get them repainted or relacquered.

Would really appreciate any help on the following:

1) a reference for a good painter working in Westchester NY (I'm in Scarsdale) and/or

2) any insights in to order of operations: install and then fix color, or fix color and then install? Given the situation (cabinets termporarly stored in my house and no room to move and contractor ready to install them on Monday), it would be easier to install and then fix color, but if that will lead to a poor finished product, I might try to fix the color first.

Any help on refs or insights from similar experiences would be so much help!

Sorry to hear about your dilema. I don't live in your area, so don't know of any painters, but definitely install them first and then repaint them- much easier process as I've recently found out, rather than painting them as they are. Especially if your contractor is coming to install them on Monday.

Ugh...what a PITA...so sorry.

I live in Rockland County...actually heading to Ardsley for Superbowl party later.

We just finished an addition and kitchen renovation. The company that did the painting was AMAZING!!! I'm sure they will drive over the bridge.

Melinda . . . OT, but I can't resist telling you that we lived in New City in the 70s -- in what was then a new neighborhood off New Hempstead Road called Stonehedge -- loved all the apple and peach trees in the yards! We have very fond memories of that neighborhood . . .

We also need to update our cabinets and want to spray paint them, change hinges & hardware. Thank you for any advice & recommendations! We live in Suffern, NY!
