I'm with lauriedeee on this one. Step away and think about whether you can and actually WILL use these tiles before making an impulse purchase. I am currently storing tile that I picked out for a bathroom and tile that I picked out for my kitchen and it's not pretty. Yes, the price is good, but if you don't have somewhere you absolutely will use it, then it will end up a waste of money and storage space. Take a deep breath and look at your house. Is there a space you absolutely will remodel and this is the perfect tile? Or are you trying to fit the tile in somewhere just because the price is good? Do you know the exact quantity you need or will you end up purchasing a bundle of tile only to discover you didn't purchase enough or you purchased way too much? If you find a project for it, do you have somewhere to actually store the tile for a long time until you get to that project?

Take it from me who has not done even one thing right in this whole reno. It's time to stop clicking the mouse. Everything I bought online has had an "issue" and the thing is, (unless you DIY) no one local will stand behind anything they didn't provide. Latest catastrophe: I bought a stainless sink online for the laundry room, Kr___, oh sure, great deal, comes with bottom liner and drain. It is making dish cloths black when I clean it. Something is going on with the steel. I already threw the boxes away, the faucet costs a lot to install so doing it all over again is nearly impossible. Just shoot me....the counter top people put the sink in a little crooked which is making my reno insanity worse. The thing is a deal is not always what it seems...

I know! I hate it when a good deal does that to me. Rats!
I guess if I had to put it somewhere, I would put it in the kitchen as a backsplash. Currently it is painted a bright blue, and I was thinking a nice clean white would look nice. Thanks for calming me down a bit though. I will give it some thought before making a rash decision.

The trim on the window has now been painted white and I have removed the blinds and put bright patterned cafe curtains in its place.

With you white counters and white stove, it would be clean and bright, but very builder ordinary -- looking ready for an update, in my mind. Plain white tiles, especially 4 or 6 inch squares are not unique or so special that the risk of wasting money is overcome by the wonderfulness of a unique find and you'd be foolish not to get them.

I agree with the other posters, there is nothing special about those tiles and you can do so much better for a backsplash than that. Hold on to your money until you're ready to pull the trigger and install them. Tastes change and who knows what you'll want a year from now. Besides, you may not know what it is, but there is a reason why they are going to "only" cost as much as he's selling them for. My worry about buying new/box stuff from CL or even Ebay is who knows where they came from and why he's selling them.

I probably shouldn't say anything because I'm not that great at decorating, but to use those white tiles as a backsplash isn't going to do anything for the kitchen. I think it will just make it look dated.

Thank you all so vey much! I took a step back, thought it through, and you are right. I Will not be buying the tiles. I know it probably seemed like a silly question/issue, but I needed to have some sense talked into me because if left up to my own devices, I probably would have been over there today making decision that I would have regretted. Granted, it would not have been a ton of money, but money all the same. Thanks!

@gr8day, I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. We haven't really done reno, just some updating and purchasing furniture, linens, painting etc. and I sometimes feel the same way you do. I tend to hunt online for things and I agree, sometimes a good deal does turn out to be a disaster, or just does not work out the way you thought it would. I know you're frustrated and I really hope it gets better for you. :-)
