settled on pink ruffle for DR, but what for ceiling?

After a zillion stripes on the walls and 'discussions' with hesitant husband, we will do BM pink ruffle, which is a bright medium creamy pink. The trim and chair rail will be white dove and more than likely upper and lower walls will be the same pink. Any suggestions for the ceiling and crown? (white dove or another color?) Hallway outside of room is Pale Oak and kitchen is stone harbor and white. all floors are hardwood. Thanks to all. PS: I DO post in the paint section but never seem to get much response, so I thank you all here.

What a bold choice. What kind of furnishings do you have?

My first choice would be to do the pale oak on the ceiling. I was thinking the stone harbour, but I think it will look too dark on a ceiling. Have you considered doing the stone harbour on the bottom and the pink ruffle above?

Would love to see a pic of the room and furnishings before commenting further.

a bit barren because we have done nothing since we have moved in here. This is the original paint and stained trim, which we will paint. My taste is a bit of modern (usually on the walls) mixed with antiques. Iam pretty eclectic. DR set is mahogany and we will change the chair covers to possibly a cream/white color. Floors are hardwood. Thought about the pale oak on ceiling. I really want a clean look. Just not sure. Hadn't thought about the stone harbor on bottom, but hmmm, might be too much for the style of furniture?

Is the furniture staying the same colour? I love it, but I'm just wondering if you do the pink on the bottom if it's going to clash with the orangey tones in the wood of the furniture? What about doing the pale oak on the bottom and the ceiling? I don't see a crown in the pic - will you be adding that?

Yes, we will be putting crown up once we start on this room. In my old house we had a dark red (with blue undertones) and it looked really great with the mahogany. I have tried the pink ruffle and another color called rosy glow and they both go great next to the breakfront with the pink ruffle looking a bit more creamy.
I really appreciate your help and I just may consider using the pale oak on ceiling and lower half.

Here is one of my inspiration photos.

Oh my gosh - I LOVE IT!

I don't have my fandeck here so I looked on colorcharts and I think that the Pale Oak might be the perfect combo w/ Pink Ruffle and then do the trim and crown the White Dove.

Yes, yes yes. What a great inspiration photo.

I'm wondering if the flash from the camera isn't making your furniture look more orangey in the pic than in real life.

Would you consider painting out the chair rail in the pink ruffle rather than highlighting it in the trim colour? Im thinking it would help to give you that clean look.

thanks daisy and ttodd. You know we took down the chair rails almost everywhere so far in the house. I just might consider taking it down in the DR anyway and then there would be that clean look with the white dove trim and crown and pale oak ceiling. I am not attached to the chair rail AT ALL.

I agree. I'd definitely remove the chair rail. I'd also paint the ceiling the same color. I think you're going to make a statement with your color choice so why not go all the way? I'd also recommend swapping out your ceiling medallion with one that's a big larger so it would be more proportionate to your chandelier and paint it the white dove trim color.
