I adopted a cat off CL. He's a domestic longhair, about 7 years old.

He was skinny, greasy dirty and depressed when we got him, afraid to come out from under the bed & wouldn't eat for 3 days! Now, 4 months later, he's a well adjusted, well loved nut!

He's very attached and so are we. He follows us everywhere & discovered when watching us brushing our teeth, that water comes out of faucets. He started jumping on the vanity counter & mewing for us to turn the water on, a game he likes.......so we bought him a Drinkwell Platinum water fountain. He loves it!

Anyone else have one? Did you put a plug-in motion sensor on it....so it just turns on when he's there? How long do these water fountains last before they wear out if you leave them on all the time?
