Anybody have a brown and white bathroom? Pictures?

I would like to paint this bathroom brown. We have white tile around the shower, but, I recently saw one that was white and brown and it was awesome. Anybody photoshop this for me? or have pictures I can see. Thanks.{{!gwi}}

You are going to paint the woodwork white right? Brown walls will not look good with that wood you have now. You have golden brown floors right now too. Are these going to be changed? Brown walls with a brown floor will be overwhelming.

What else is in the budget for the room? New hardware and lighting? Window treatments? Beadboard? Do you have an overall plan for the space?

No changes other than paint. This bathroom was remodeled a couple years ago. New everything. I just don't like the yellow walls.

What tone of brown are you going for? Here are 3 very quick very bad photoshops in all different tones. As you can see, you'll have to be very careful about the amount of red versus green in the brown tone:

I have a dark brown den with deep yellow trim, and LOVE it.

OMG you are awesome! I am going for a milk chocolate sort of color I believe. The middle one is not bad maybe lighter. I will have to check this on my monitor at home, this one at work is really off. Thank you so much!

Here's a milk chocolatey version. I think you're going to have to really experiment with color boards to get the right tone, but I applaud a brown bath as long as it's not too, erm, bodily-colored. ;-)

Thanks for the pictures! Yes the shower curtain is a green color.

Thanks Peanut for the picture, yeah I like that tone. I have some brown samples at home. Maybe I can put them up on the wall and see how they look.

Here's a pic of my powder room which used to be brown:

Sandra, with your wood trim a reddish brown, not to mention your brick floors, I'd be very careful about any brown you put on the walls in there. You could end up with some major clashing . . . or just a too-brown space.

I have a brown and green bathroom, too. I'd wanted to paint the walls of my powder room a brown, but with our brick floors, I thought it might be too much brown. I ended up going with a warm cream on the walls and brought in my browns and greens with my accents: my artwork in there, my towels, rug, etc. Many of the brown accents are an orangey-reddish brown, similar to your woodwork's color. The one thing I'm still planning on doing in mine is to restain the cabinet a warm brown and add some rustic ORB hardware to it.
Anyhoo, it's another option to the brown walls for you to consider.

I don't have a pic of it, but for a rug, I have a small Oriental in medium sage green with rusty brown and cream. It adds another layer of accent colors to the room, but the sage background makes it pop against my brown brick floor.

This is our chocolate milk color (BM 1033 Hillsboro Beige) and white bathroom

My chocolate is on both the wall and the cabinets (and the shower). The walls are done with a special finish (you put plastic over wet paint and pull it away). It's kind of a marble type look with light tan and chocolate and cream.

A close up...the side with grout is travertine and the plain side is the paint finish:

igloochic, are your cabs painted or stained? If painted, may I ask what color that is? It's very pretty.

I was wondering if I used the same tile as there is around the shower, if I could put it just on the sink wall? Like in this picture? Would that look right, or should I do the whole bottom half of the room?

sandra, you could also use beadboard along the bottom of the wall. Don't go too dark in the room.

I really would like to continue the tile around the bottom, I was just not sure if it would look good just on the sink wall though. I may end up doing the whole bottom half around the room.

A bit late to the party...here's our master bath. The paint color is Harvest Brown by Behr.

The cabinets are stained, but if you want to acheive the same look with paint, our trim paint (the window and door frame in the pics) is done in a custom mix (me with a big bucket LOL). It's a sherwin williams color called "Woodsy Brown" mixed 50/50 with Black paint of the same sheen. Decorators call the color Tint de'negre (tint of brown/black). It's a very rich chocolate color (think semi sweet hershey bar). It flows really well with true chocolate browns and tans, and I like how my white fixtures work with it as well.
