Need suggestions & pics of arrangements on top of chest of drawer

Hi everyone.......We are reworking our bedroom this Spring & would like to see what everyone is doing on top of their of chest of drawers in their bedrooms (if you still have one). We have hung new shades & took down blinds over the windows, took down Ballard sconces on each side of the bed & bought new lamps, hung pics over the nightstands & still have a couple of other changes I would like to do before I post new pics. Just mainly sprucing up our space for Spring. Thanks for help if you have any pics or suggestions.

I don't have anything really valuable to share here but I figured I'd respond since no one else did. I don't "arrange" the top of my dressers .. on the taller chest I have perfume bottles and a jewelry box.. I keep the lower dresser very functional: tissues, a small covered hat box kind of container of hair paraphenalia, a brush, lotion..

Maybe it is because I am single, but my bedroom is my sanctuary-- it is very private to me and I don't decorate it for anyone but myself. If someone else is invited to share it-- they aren't there to see what trinkets I've placed on my dresser heh.

Right now, on the top of my chest of drawers is my TV, a set of rabbit ears/power antenna, and some dust! The TV is a 20-inch tube type, so it takes up most of the top of the chest.

If I have any money left over when I finish my home improvements, I am replacing that TV w/ a small flat-screen one to go on the corner of my dresser (or maybe mount on the wall). Then I will decorate the top of the chest better!

    Sorry I couldn't be more inspirational! :)

Thank you funkyart & straitlover for your replies! I hear ya about the bedroom ! That is why I thought someone might could offer me up some nice inspiration pics , since mine isn't really decorated either. LOL! I guess I could try some furniture sites online & see how they have decorated their furniture for selling, huh? Thanks again!
Glad to know there are others out there that are happy to have some areas just for theirselves & don't worry about the decorating! Bonnie

Hi Bonnie! We only have the one dresser in our bedroom, as our closet is fitted with drawers. Here's pic of it. Please excuse the roll of drawer paper propped up there. Capodimonte lamp is one that my grandparents had in their home when I was a kid. I inherited it. Candleholders are antiques that I bought years ago. Framed pics are of DH and Me when we were little and one of my grandmother, taken for her debutante ball (back in the 1910, I think). My DD loves it there because I look like my grandmother . . . although minus the Gibson Girl hairdo and gown! We really do use the teacart every morning, M-F, to hold our breakfast tray over next to our bed, as we eat watching the early morning news. Our dobie sleeps propped up on the dresser . . . spoiled thing! ;~P

You want to keep it clean and simple, NO personal items, including and especially photo's. You want people to look at your property not your collectibles. A little plant, a vase, a book, lamp. I would do maybe 3 items, just enough to make it look nice.

Thank you so much Lynn for posting the pic for me! You have the most beautiful bedroom & your Dobie is so sweet propped up next to it! My Macy is spoiled too - LOL!
Thank you also Wisrose for your suggestions! I think odd numbers always do make a great arrangement!

Unless you're staging for a sale, that's a great place for personal photos.

Thanks Oceanna! I have had personal photos on top of mine also. Right now , there are two huge candlesticks with candles & a decorative box with one of those framed grilled pics hanging onthe wall above the chest of drawers. I think the candlesticks are too big so am going to move them. Also am not sure about keeping the grill thing there either. Might look better to have some color in a framed piece of artwork. Still pondering....LOL!

OOOOPs,, I thought you were staging your house for selling...when you suggested "looking at furniture online to see how they display furniture for selling" I apologize. By all means decorate with things you love, including and especially photos! :) But I still say keep it clean and simple, because that's the way "I" like my dressers decorated.

Here's ours, tall dresser is hubby's, long dresser mine, got rid of huge mirror years ago, also updated hardware from colonial to more modern, and as father was an artist, have oil paintings all over our home, more attractive then a mirror any day..
