We used the cable set up from Target in our guest room, with ring clips. Even though we used very lightweight sheers, they still have made the cable "sag". I recommend two people to tighten the cable, as you can see in image, I'm still waiting for assistance to fix the problem...

Another option for corners is to use a hinged corner bracket into which two wooden rods are screwed. I did this in our MBR where we have a bay-type window arrangement. I found ours at JCPenney, but have also seen them at stores such as Linens & Things

Here is a picture of the corner bracket similar to what I used. I just saw they also had smaller, metal ones onto which a hollow metal rod would slide....

I wondered if there would be a problem with the cable sagging. How much tension to you think you put on yours, Tracey? The drapes are window length faux suede. My concern was that it would be hard to get it stretched tight and that too much light would come in at the top.

With faux suede, forget the wire cable setup.
The only thing I have seen hanging from wire cables without a problem were cafe-length sheers (and that was at Ikea).

If using something with that kind of weight, I would go the route of 2 rods connected with a hinged corner bracket.
