power vent or b-vent water heater

Which is better power vent or b-vent water heater? I have the option of either with my new construction. With the b-vent, I could have a pipe go from basement to roof above 2nd floor. I am getting conflicting reports regarding the 2 options. Any help would be appreciated.

I've read endless complaints about noise and unreliability with power vent heaters. Go with b vent. The money spent on the b vent will be at least partially recouped by the less expensive heater.

Keep in mind that without power the water is NOT being heated with a power vent unit installed.

A plain old gas water heater with a standing pilot has no electrical connection.
