You can give her tuna or cooked turkey (turkey is the better option) if that's all you have, but don't give her more than the equivalent of 1/4 can every couple of hours, or you may seriously upset her stomach. Also, give her plenty of fresh water - NO MILK OR OTHER DAIRY PRODUCTS!

In addition to the local animal control officer, I recommend you contact all animal shelters, animal rescues, and vets in your area with a description of the cat. If animal control doesn't get back to you in a timely manner, contact the police if you live within city limits or the sheriff if you live out of town.

She may be microchipped. A vet or shelter could check that out for you.

Happy ending! The local humane society had been contacted by the owner, so when I called them they were able to match us up. The owner picked her up just moments ago. The poor lady was very worried about her. I'm glad I took her in.
