New chairs are here and, whew, I love them!

I'm not sure who is more relieved me or dh. He's had to listen to all the self doubts about this major purchase - well, I guess you guys can sympathize with him since you've had to read about it. I took pictures, but they just don't look the same as IRL. The fabric is a lovely soft linen and the colours are much more muted than in the pictures. Now that they are in, I can see the rest of the room still needs a lot of work - I'll be back to ask for help, but for now just wanted to share.

Love those! Nice legs, beautiful where did you get these?

I see that someone has already claimed one of them. :-)

budge1: The chairs look lovely! They did a good job with the placement of the flowers over the chair backs and matching the fabric placement betweent the two chairs. It takes a lot of guts to get something that really makes a design statement, but you did good. Do tell, what are you other plans for the room?

Yep, if the kitty likes them, you know you made the right choice! Cute kitty, by the way..

I really like 'em. Nice job choosing!

Very nice! And they look quite comfy, too : ) I forget, is that the new coffee table or are you getting another? Any wt plans? Weren't we sizing rugs, too, lol : )

Trying to tone the photo glare. Maybe more like this?

Beautiful! I noticed the feet/legs too.

Very nice! I have one large floral chair and love the impact it makes in the room.

Thanks everyone. They are from wesley hall. The legs were definitely a selling point. Unfortunately, kitty loves them too much and we have canvas thrown over them for the moment until we can get her claws clipped. Of course, she never scratches the old chair.

Thanks squirrel, that is definitely more what they look like. I love that they look like they will just get better as they wear in.

And yes, window treatments, possibly a rug (the other one was waaaaaay too small once the chairs were there - moved upstairs), I need to do something with the fireplace wall, and do you think the table between the chairs is too big? But I will post another thread with more pics later.

Oh, I was just trying to remember what else was going on in the room. You had a thread on the rug and something about the coffee table. Just can't recall.

Cats are so funny. They get so in-to what's new : )

Very nice! I ordered 2 similar style chairs, and they are ready to be delivered (I am not ready for them!) I know I'll breath a sigh of relief too if I feel the same way you do! Again, I love the chairs!

You did good!! I wish I could get past my self doubts to get an order placed. I also like the legs, a style I've been looking at, too.

Lovely choice! And yes -- an excellent job on fabric placement!

LOVE the cat -- they always know the best chair in the house! LOL!

You must be so pleased! A nice addition to the room. I am guessing you added some darker throw pillows to your couch to tie things together.

FWIW, I think the cushion on the chair on the right side is upside down. The front box edge looks reversed compared to the other chair, and the larger green flower on the right corner of the cushion is facing upwards, where the same flower everywhere else on both chairs angles downward.

Now THAT'S the kind of chair I'd love ---- sit sideways with my legs thrown over the arm and a good book resting on my tum.
Glass of iced tea, of course.

    Beautiful. Comfy and beautiful.
    Love the legs too!

I have some of that same fabric that I'm making up into shams for my summer bedding. Love that floral!

Very pretty, I like the style a lot. We have a kitty who is declawed:) A friend has one that is not:( She recently purchased this two sided pet tape that keeps the cat from clawing the corners of her sofa. It was sold at a pet store, but it really just looks like 2 sided 2 inch wide clear double sided tape. It does work for her, eventually she has to replace the tape, because hair and fuz get on it. The cats do not like the tape, I wonder if it has some sort of repelant on it too.

Very nice... I love how they look with the window trim! Would love to see a nice warm color on the walls to compliment!

    Cheers!

Les, that is so funny. With everyone commenting on the floral placement, I did notice that cushion and have changed it. Probably wouldn't have otherwise. I'm still searching for the exact shade of dark brown for sofa pillows. I have some striped fabric with the same colours but it just isn't doing it for me. Maybe with a solid dark brown or cherry red pillow behind. What do you think?

Thanks for the tip gk. I'm going to look online and see what info I can find on that. I've tried to trim her claws myself and haven't had much luck. I can't see doing the soft claws on a regular basis so if that stuff works it would be great.

Creekylis, we just painted the walls white!!! We had dark warm colours for 8 yrs and I am REALLY ENJOYING the clean white :-)

Thanks again everyone for the nice compliments. Off to peruse the web for drapery fabric.
