Tankless water heater and whole house heating in one unit that would also replace a furnace.
Comments (7)We have installed 3 tankless water heaters (for hot water only-not heating the house) and we have loved, loved, loved them. They take little to no space in our basement/utility rooms and we have unlimited hot water. It may take a moment to get the hot to flow to the faucet, but the old fashioned type has to flow the same distance also. The new venting traditional water heaters are sooo noisy-out neighbors just got one and we can hear it running and it runs all the time. Not to mention that you are "cooking" water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have this unit in our home and we have no problems with lack of hot water. I usually am not washing clothes/running the dishwasher and take a shower all at the same time. We love them and would never go back to the tank water heater again....See Moretankless water heaters
Comments (8)... We've had a Rinnai R53 tankless for several years now and love it. We no longer have to juggle dishwashing, clothes washing, and/or showers...it can handle all at once. It does seem to get "mixed up" during cold weather when I'm taking a shower, cycling hot/cold/hot even if the cold tap is turned completely off. If I go out in the garage and manually adjust the digital temp setting down from 140° where we usually run it, to 104° which is the temp I like my showers, then it works fine. I'm not a plumber so I don't know why that works, it just does. If I had it to do over again I'd spring for the remote control unit they offered at time of installation so I could digitally set my preferred water temp while showering and not have to fiddle with the hot/cold taps...just leave the cold tap completely off. A quick look on Amazon shows some Rinnai remotes, wonder if they would work with my unit? Another advantage of tankless water heaters is that they free up space for something else, in my case bicycle parking in the garage. One selling point of tankless is for energy conservation: to only heat hot water when you need it instead of keeping 50 or more gallons heated 24/7/365... Well, I consider myself to be above average on the eco-conscious scale, but must confess I do sometimes take *longer* showers knowing the hot water is "unlimited," so if you're considering tankless for green reasons everyone in the household will need to be responsible with their hot water usage or it may have the opposite effect. Overall I'd say go for it!...See MoreTankless water heaters
Comments (1)There is no limit. All of the complaints I have seen have relayed to poorly located units. Mine is directly over my master shower. I can shower with the washer on and the dishwasher doing its thing with no issues. Gas rinnai......See MoreTankless water heater too hot in the summer
Comments (2)Hi annolsen, I take it the water heater is outside. Is it exposed to sunlight during the day? If so, providing shade could help. If it is in the garage you might need to look at ventilating the space better or insulating the space where the water heater is located. The coils of the water heater could be heating up from the hot water heater location and you need to lower the heat in the room....See Morejakethewonderdog
