Why didn't DH care for Bunglehouse Gray - specifically what didn't he like about it?

funcolors, he thinks bunglehouse will look like every other house in the neighborhood. I really like it though. The blue that it is now is just not my favorite. It was the color when we bought it and I'm ready for a change.

The only color I tried on your list was Bunglehouse Gray and didn't like it either. In the shade it was great but when the sun hit the house it looked a bit minty.

I am leaning towards BM Copley Grey. It is a tanish grey with a ting of green.

Don't know these grays that you're mentioning, but are they lighter than the roof? I think that would be quite pretty, actually, lightest gray in the ones you mentioned, contrasting w/ that dark gray roof.

PS DHs could learn (at least mine could) that color and decorating decisions are the purview of the lady of the house. While they can have an opinion, yours counts more! Put your foot down and choose what feels right to you. It will be the right choice, I'm sure.

kitchenkelly-that's good to know about Bunglehouse as minty wouldn't be good. I've only seen pics of it online and really liked it. I will check out Copley Gray.

druidclark- All my choices so far are lighter than roof. Poor husband just wants me to pick at this point and says he'll be happy with whatever I pick. I have to say he's being very patient as I stress over this and I've at times just told him to pick but then of course I don't like what he likes and we're back at square one haha!

I took a quick look online and I can't see a huge diff between the SW colors, but it could be my monitor. I did notice that the poolhouse looked kinda blue, but not in a great way, imo. Of those, I think that the Jubilee and the Rare Gray are very pretty. I also like the BM Heather Gray.

I know a lot of people swear by the BM colors and paint, but I completely swear by SW. I love their Duration outdoor paint. It holds beautifully. We sided our house in Hardie board this past year and they matched the paint perfectly for the trim pieces on the older part of the house.

Poolhouse is *very* blue.

If he didn't like Bunglehouse Gray, is it because he just doesn't like gray? Or is it that specific color. I know many people just aren't "gray people."

It would help to get an understanding of the look and feel you want.

I could use some "grey" help as well. Looking for BM grey leaning towards darker that does not have blue in it. More of a contemporary grey, if there is such a thing.

Malhgold-- I posted this the other day on a shutter thread for you you but here is a picture of my old house painted BM Briarwood with Forest Green shutters and a Cottage Red door.
It is a great color-- depending on the time of day, it can look brown, green or grey.

I think we're going with BM Kendall Charcoal--I think it's answers the question about a contemporary gray. It's very *gray*...also thinking Chelsea Gray, I think it's called. More of a cement color. Neither are very blue-ish.
