Shabby Chic merchandise on SALE

If you've been contemplating buying anything from Rachell Ashwell's Shabby Chic store they have a 20% sale going on now until April 26th. This even includes custom furniture orders and bedding. I was told this is the first sale they've had like this in at least 3 years, especially bed linens which apparently never go on sale.

p.s. sorry if my post comes across as spam!

Woohoo! Is this on their web site? Or at Target? Or where?

I saw the notice about the sale first on their website so I gather it's only at Rachel Ashwell stores and their website. I just checked Target's weekly ad and they have some Simply Shabby Chic items on sale but it doesn't look to be across the board. I'll find out this weekend when I make my weekly run to Target.

"Spam"? No way! This is how we effectively let each other know about great sales. Thanks for the heads up!

All of their bedding is not on sale, but a lot of it is. DD1 called me about a duvet cover that she's never seen on sale before. They do have sales every few months, but usually not this large. Most of the time it's just a few patterns they are discontinuing or showroom (used) bedding that's marked down when they change bedding.

I went to the SC shop in Chicago yesterday, I had to go downtown and have never been there so wanted to check it out. (I love the look of Allison's DDs apartment, it's so fresh and airy.) I liked the SC store because most fabrics were not as bright pink and flowery as the fabrics in Target. (The salesclerk there told me the difference between the two lines is fabrics carried by SC shops are made in USA, while fabrics in the line carried by Target are imported.) I fell in love with a silk quilt that is supposedly machine washable. I don't know how much I trust that, but it was sooo soft. She was good at mixing and matching, too, I'll give her that. I told her I was looking for fresh and airy but not overly feminine. One of the other clerks told me they have introduced more light gray this spring. We rearranged one of the display beds with a muted floral pattern blended with the silk quilt in a muted silver and then brought in a 3rd pattern of white w/light gray stripes. It was very soothing and the fabrics are soooo soft!

Thankfully she sent me home with lots of swatches, because my first choice didn't look so great in the room, but the second one did!

MS, one of the duvets on DD1's bed and the blanket thrown over the end (across the bed and bench at foot of bed) are the silk you are talking about. They are machine washable. She has washed hers at least four times. When I was there visiting her in November, she went down to the laundry room and a lady on the elevator quizzed her on the blanket. The lady bought one that afternoon.

fyi, DD1 sent me a newer article on SC a few days ago and I mentioned the forum discussion. Thought she might show up and see her apartment picture, so I took it down. Not sure how she would feel. lol

Oh, I can understand how she might feel, but she truly has a lot to be proud of. I personally rank it up there as one of my all time favorite decors! ;D

Thanks for the info on the quilt. That's what I needed to hear. They have a nice variety of colors in those too. I am going to do some serious fabric swatch mixing and matching and see what I can come up with. I can call in my order and they'll ship it or just make the drive back up there to purchase. Tho finding parking is a bear. All I saw was metered street parking and parallel parking in a small spot with a crazed cabbie on your bumper is tricky! :-)

LOL There is a parking deck on Fillmore St down from SC - when SC is on your right, the deck is down Fillmore about three blocks on your left). It's on a corner. Maybe on Post and Fillmore. Can't miss it though.

Or you could head up Fillmore towards Pacific and park in the residential section and walk down.....just remember you'll have to haul your goods back up. ;)
