Does it need to be a solid because I would think there would be lots of patterned rugs that would work with your sofas. If you are willing to use a patterned rug, would you want something that is modernist or traditional?

I found some great ones on Homedecorators.com and they have a clearance rug section. Check that out on the top line of the page. I was happy with the quality.
