My DH and I just bought our first home a month ago. Having basically just moved from my own parents home, I am not very skilled in decorating, etc.

Any help or advice that you can provide would be great!

I have an adjoining dining/den area. We will get our new furniture tomorrow, but I have the rugs that I have already purchased down. I am having some trouble though, because although I know they do not MATCH per se, I want to see if I am making a major decorating faux pas by putting these in any space together.

(btw the television that you see in the first photo will not be there long term... it is just where we've been keeping it until our furniture comes in!)

The blue/brown rug will be below our new dining room table.
