Warning! Don't look if you don't like corbels!!

Swoon . . . . . . I'm in love!

My kitchen is moving along. Just wanted to share some photos of my new peninsula complete with corbels. The counter is bar height so these are huge! I LOVE them.

Met with the granite fabricators today and did the layout for my granite. Granite is being installed on Friday. Can't wait to see it. Things have been going really smooth. Only real problem we ran into was early on when we ended up spending an extra $800 on electrical issues. We're five weeks in and estimate we have three weeks to go.

Stunning! I can't wait for final photos. I bet you can hardly wait to use that gorgeous kitchen! As I mentioned on the phone, your contractor is first class. What a great job!

wow! the details are amazing! can you tell me what dimensions they are?
do they take up a lot of cabinet space? i want some substantial corbels also, but don't know how much space i would be losing.

Michoumonster, the corbels are 41 1/4" tall, about 7 1/2" deep and 7" wide. I'm not losing any cabinet space because they are supporting a raised granite bar. They're taking up leg/seating space. Well worth it to me. I wanted room to seat three people at the bar and should be able to fit four.

Very excited to see things coming together. Especially happy at the moment because I just found a backsplash tile that is less than a 1/3 the price of the tile I was planning on using. Plus it is IN STOCK instead of a three week lead time. Oh happy day!

About 8 years ago I experienced a nightmare of a kitchen remodel. An absolute nightmare. I must have paid my dues because my contractor now has been a dream come true. Love everything about him. Great guy, great ideas, patient, totally listens to me and pleasant to have around. We're on schedule, on budget (the budget we agreed to after I busted my original budget lol) and my dog likes him. What more can I ask for. :)
