Well, now I know why nobody needs the slide out keyboard anymore .

    Wow, Angela! Very cool.

Both today and Monday, everyone was on their smart-phones in the waiting rooms.

My older flip-phone couldn't even access service, for some reason so I couldn't check my home messages for the follow-up app't with the surgeon.

Since we don't use the phone, only for emergencies we have a monthly pay as you go ($15/month). I'm looking to see if I can get a smart phone with a cheap plan similar to that one, but with allowable data to check emails when necessary.

Yes you can do text messages that way too. Much faster than typing in certain situations.
But my dog looks at me funny when I am alone talking to my tablet lol.

Well, this has to serve as my home and work phone and we are having a hate hate relationship I'm not very good with technology. Or apparently, remembering to insert punctuation. And I cannot figure out how to turn off auto correct, which is reducing me to near tears.

What phone did you get Angela? I was surprised by DH with a smartphone at Christmas. I got him one 2 months later with a free upgrade. We love them!

Try going to settings while you're on the texting page. It may have an "uncheck" box for auto correct.
Or call tech support. When got my first smart phone I called them a lot. Practically got on a first name basis. LOL.

Also go to youtube and type in your phone + tutorials. There's a ton of them on there.

    enjoy...I love the voice feature!!

Well you seem to be doing quite well at it.

Maybe voice posting explains why some posts lack so much punctuation and caps for new sentences, which I often find so hard to read and/or understand.

It does work well. My son always uses that feature on his phone, but I dunno, I can't see me doing that for answering emails while waiting for a meeting to begin or during a break for a longer meeting.

I got the Verizon LG Enact. Boy, has Verizon's service gone WAY downhill since I got my first "smart phone" about three years ago. I would go to the service center with, I'm sure, the goofiest frustrations and was always waited on instantly and the young man was very patient in showing me how to perform whatever function I was having trouble with.

Not anymore. You wait for two hours at Verizon to be called to the counter, they write down a link and tell you that you have to do it yourself online! Was very frustrated in the three weeks it took to finally get the phone and get all my data transferred.

I get excellent Verizon support by calling their customer service number. Whether the need is tech support, account transactions, status questions, etc., I seem to always get connected to someone who is knowledgeable, helpful and (most importantly) empowered to make suggestions that are in MY best interest.

The people in the store are sales-oriented. There's nothing wrong with that but it's probably unrealistic to expect to get broad and knowledgeable support from them. It's outside of their skillset for most of them.

,, what kind of keyboard program are you using? I use SwiftKey which is very easy to use and learn. The predictions are right on target. You can get it from the Google play store. it is very customizable. I hate using any other kind of keyboard now. I don't care for the standard keyboard that comes loaded with the system. The on-board keyboard program will remain on the phone but you can download and add other ones to try out. Swift key does have a free version, I like it so much I did purchase the full app, not expensive and I caught it on a special deal.

Check out the link below, you can install the free one to try, if you decide you don't want it just remove it.

Same with the browser I have found that the standard browser is OK not great. I currently use UC HD BROWSER for android, it is by far the best browser I have ever used for android. it is amazingly fast and easy to use, I love it and highly recommended that any one using Android try it out. I have been a long time Firefox for android user but UC HD BROWSER blows it away, and it has a built-in ad block plus type filter built in. It is also available on Google play.

Here is a link that might be useful: Swift key

The phone mentioned has a slide-out physical keyboard, something like Swift Key would likely not be of use.

I think UC HD browser is more for tablets than for phones, is that what you use it on? On phones, Chrome and Opera Mini are very popular, especially the latter because each website's information is compressed for transmission, thus minimizing data usage when visiting websites over the cell data connection. A site's native app is aways the best choice from a phone.

Y'all may as well be speaking Chinese, to me. LOL
Telling ya, I'm very technologically challenged. I can answer the phone, make a call, send a text, check my emails, that's about it.

Angela, just a reminder.....go to youtube and type in

    Verizon LG Enact tutorials

You can learn all sorts of stuff about your phone. The great thing is, they are demonstrating it, not just telling you about it. You can pause the video and try it on your phone, it's great.

My niece only uses SIRI on her cell. She never types anything. I have used it for texting when driving. It never hears what I say right. I let SIRI send the message anyway. Then I'll get a message back asking what I'm talking about. I simply answer, "that was SIRI talking". LOL

Hi Deb ... is SIRI ... sorta like ... drunk?
