How durable are oil rubbed bronze faucets?

Considering these for the kitchen (already purchased a price pfister) and for the bathrooms. Why are they so ridiculously expensive? I can't find a decent bathroom widespread set for less than $100. Am I just being cheap? I really don't want to spend that much if the finish is prone to wearing down quickly. Any brand reccomendations?

I guess it depends on the brand and the cleaning chemicals you use. I've heard on several occassions that the finishes wear. Sometimes it's been because the finish is not durable, other times it's because of the cleaning chemicals that were used.
