Is this dining room furniture too wacky?

So, in moving, my DH threw out all the table leaves to our table (long story), and now we're looking to buy another one that will accomodate a lot of people. I also want to replace our chairs bc most of our are old and broken. I love these chairs, but do you think it would be too wacky to get them in red (I love red)?

I would pair them with this trestle table:

I like the chairs and I like the table, but I would personally pair the chairs with a plainer table. Its hard to say without seeing the room or your other furniture whether the chairs are "too much", but in the right place, I like them.

    MHO
The chairs are awesome! Even in red:) I can't really see them with that table though, it seems to fancy/formal. I don't think a trestle table is out, but maybe plainer, and maybe in black or white? Maybe a more rustic looking wood?

I'm not generally a fan of trestle tables because I don't like sitting on the end with the trestle (I have long legs) but that table is really pretty. Love the gorgeous pattern on the top of it!

I like the chairs too, but like pal I'm not sure how they would look together. The table strikes me as being much more formal. My other thought is that you might not want arm chairs all around the table, just at the ends. That's alot of chair arms jostling for space. If you have lots of room this might not be a concern. Also it's hard to scootch real close to the table with arm chairs (we have some skinny folks in our family.) Does the chair come in a side chair option? (I didn't see one.)

I love red, too. I can picture some gorgeous red leather parsons chairs with that table.

I was also concerned that your red chair looked short compared to the table, but I checked the seat height and it's similar to the seat height of the chairs shown with the table (actually a shade higher.)

I love the chairs and would probably get one in each color! Unfortunately, I also think the table is much more formal than the chairs. I don't normally think of trestle tables as being formal but there is something about the finish and the details that seem formal. Will these items be going into a formal dining room or the every day eating area?

I love those chair designs! Unfortunately, I think the scale of the table is too heavy for the chairs. Perhaps if the table were white...

I was wrong about the side chairs - that chair does come in a side chair (no arms) version.

Your second chair is neat too, but I am still not thinking they will look right with that formal table. If you are really liking the table, I would pick different chairs, you could do something with red upholstery?

I like the table and chairs separately, but not together. The table feels very heavy and formal, the chairs fun and lightweight. If you love the chairs, I would look for a more modern version of a trestle, something with a glass top.

I like both chairs, but the first one most. I would almost want to see a farm table or a contemporary metal table with the red chairs.

I think it might work if the chairs were black, but don't see it as a successful pairing in red. The chairs become even more contemporary in that color.

You all are great! Thanks for all the feedback. I kind of thought that the table and chairs wouldn't go together. I really really love the chairs; so, I think I'm going to have to find a better table that works. The dining chairs and table will go in our dining room. We only have one eating space in the house and we eat all our dinners and some lunches in there, depending. It is open to our great room and kitchen, and it is set up to be informal but could be set up to feel more formal, depending on how you dress it up. Here is a photo of it before it was finished. The fireplace surround is a honey onyx. I made curtains with a reddish/orange coral fabric (I need to take an updated photo).

Anyway, lately, I've been attracted to trestle tables, but I agree this one seems a bit more formal. How about this one:

    Does it seem equally formal?
    Or how about this table?

One thing that my DH is pretty adamant about is not having an apron under the table (which is kind of hard to find). He hates our current table bc there is barely enough clearance for your legs, and you can't cross them wo/squishing your thighs into the apron.

    Thanks!

LOVE the chairs and love your room ... sorry but I don't like any of the tables. Think you need to look for something "funkier" for a table.

Gobruno, I love the chair and they are a great pairing with the Craftsman style Society Table. The simple clean lines don't fight or distract from the chairs allowing the chairs to be 'the star' yet, the table is massive enough to work as a counterpoint to the delicate chairs.

Both of the trestle tables posted above have distinctive styling on their own, and the curvy lines and traditional styling, make them a clash with the chairs.

I think the Society Table is perfect with the the chairs and the grouping looks to be a perfect fit for your space.

i like the chair, but it doesn't seem it would match the table
