Need help Choosing LR Chandelier - Pulling my hair out! Help..

I need some help with my Living Room chandelier choice.

Here is a shot of the room and the current lovely ceiling fan. I want to replace witha a chandelier. I have about 100 picked out but, need advice on scale, size, type, etc.

The room is 20.5 X 24 with tons of natural light (too much as it is causing me grief with paint choices). Already have recessed lighting so the amount of light is not the issue with the new chandelier just the look.

The ceilings are 9.5 ft in the tray where the chandelier will go. The chandelier will not be hanging in a walkway at all.

Below is the room now.

I am drawn to these types of chandeliers (below) traditional to transitional in nature but, since I don't know which size is best I can't decide until I get some help.

So do I need short and wide? Or same width as height? How large can it be?

I am weary of looking online and just want to decide.

Help guys. Also, what's the best online dealer IYO? I want to buy online

1st is the fan hung in the exact center of the raised portion of the ceiling? I would almost want a chandelier hung in line with the center of the fireplace. Of the ones shown I like #3 the best.

Oooooh, #3 looks like it's tailor made for your room!

I like #3, but I think #5 is a better fit for your room. It's more classical and graceful and airy.

I wouldn't want to clean #3. I like #7, but it is just my taste. I have no decorating skills.

I must be the only one partial to #1. It has a certain ethereal quality that appeals to me.

Every time I come back to this post, I'm still loving it.

Check out the blog Cote de Texas -- check out Joni's house .....

Vote for #5 OR a large old zinc-type lantern style like the ones that Joni just hung in her den and hallway -- search her blog .....

Here is a link that might be useful: Cote de Texas

So, which one did you choose?

Based on the changes you made, and the new color palette, any one of these would be my pick! They are all different, but all would work in your room. The first two are from Cote de Texas' blog, one from PB and a misc. one I found.

I haven't yet. I still need some help figuring out how large the chandelier can be based on my sized room. The pottery barn one I love but, I think it is too tall. The scale is the biggest question I have.

I love # 3 and # 6. I think they are the right scale and would make an elegant statement in the room

    I found it!
Went shopping in New Orleans and stopped by Home & Garden in Covington, LA. This store had been written talked about in some of the decorating blogs I frequent. Truly eye candy city. They carry Suzanne Kasler's Hickory Chair line. Absolutely beautiful. I could have stayed there forever. But, after I stopped drooling over the beautiful furniture, I found THE chandelier. I can't wait to hang it and post pictures but, I thought I would share. What do you think? Do you guys like it? Thanks for all the wonderful advice. I'll post pics after I hang it. I also found all my fabric at a great place in New Orleans that has the best prices on Jefferson Linen. I can post if anyone is interested.

    You done good.

Beautiful room and I like all of your contenders. A few of them I was considering on my post re my dining room chandelier choices and #7 of your original pictures is one that is on my short list. The one that you've chosen will look gorgeous in your room!

EXACTLY what I had envisioned! Please post when it's hung! It will make the room!

Thank you for validating my choice KMCG85 will post when I get hung. Hopefully this weekend.

Omg that is absolutely perfection. The curvy lines offset the rectangular lines in your room and it mimics the lamp shape. You could have searched forever and not found that one, Yummmy!!!
