? about cabinet painting methods

I have a question about how custom cabinets are painted. We've done some research on Crown Point and would love to go with them but for the cost. They make a big deal about how the painting is done on each individual cabinet piece and baked before the cabinets are assembled.

Do other custom manufacturers paint before everything is assembled? We've heard some warnings about how painted cabinets can have cracks show over time (we're in the humid mid-atlantic region) because of the expanding and shrinking.

Is the CP method a better way of dealing with this challenge? It's hard to separate fact from marketing spin...

You might want to check but I looked into Crown Point and I believe it is only their milk paint finish that they use that technique for. I might be mistaken though. Good luck.

I love it.

A custom cabinet is a cabinet manufactured at a local cabinet shop to your specifications. The door style you selected are manufactured at that same shop or ordered from a door vendor.The cabinets are delivered and installed in your home, the doors and drawers installed and adjusted for correct fit.
If the hinges are face frame mounted, the drawers are removed and the cabinet finish is applied by a finisher. If the hinges are blind, the drawers and doors are removed and finished seperatly.

Some salesmen will say anything.........
