    Me next!
I already made a list of projects for next year - several are just finishing binding or quilting. I am getting a Little Gracie II and Juki machine for Christmas and our anniversary, so I will be learning all about them and doing lots of practicing. I want to take a couple of classes locally and go to a couple of "away" quilt shows. I hope to also get in at least one retreat. Happy New Year to us all.

I have a couple of projects I want to finish up ASAP in the new year. I plan to reorganize my sewing area. Once those items are done I plan to make a tie quilt, I have collected ties for a couple of years and now its time to try something creative with them and a football quilt for my nephew.

To all a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Years.

January is my month to quilt...it is usually very cold...a good time to just stay home and rest up from the holidays sewing/quilting. In 2008 My Wish List is:
    Smokie Mountain Scrap Quilt
    A Dot to Dot quilt
    A Slideshow Quilt
    Quilt my Birthday Quilt
    Quilt my Bento Box Quilt

I think I'm into March already.
Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year everyone.

I have a couple of lists made for 2008 already. One is ideas I would like to try (pics of quilts I've come across), and the other is a list of projects that I want to complete or at least work on til I'm more comfy with them being put away.....I really have a guilt process going on about some of them. In fact, my sister-in-law gave me some fabric that I've forgotten what it was she wanted me to do with it......if I remember, I'll ask her at dinner tomorrow. I detest that forgetters disease!

I want to make another denim rag quilt for my youngest son, he has a double bed so that's going to be one heavy quilt. I have two projects that are hot on the top of my list to finish, my Pineapple blossom which I've decided to have my friend hand quilt for me so all I have to do with that is get the backing ready and give it to her. And a string 8 pointed star wallhanging that I'm doing for my daughter. I have the stars put together and the points didn't match up so I was disappointed with it but it's strings so it can be wonky. After those are done I really want to make a pineapple quilt. I also need to spend some time with my two daughters and help them get their quilts done.
We are doing some reconstruction in the bedrooms, My sewing room is done but we all have to move in there while our rooms are being finished. After all the work is done (hopefully by summer) I will have a room to sew in. My son moved out in Oct. and my two girls have decided to continue to share a room so I can have a sewing room, bless them!

I'm planning on changing the color scheme of my bedroom so I would like to make a quilt for my bed in blue and white. I would also like to TRY to finish up many UFO's and get started on Xmas presents for next year. I've been on a roll making table runners so I think I should keep on doing that. Would also like to attend the Vermont Quilt Show--I think it's in June.

I want to reorg my sewing room. Try a quilt as you go quilt. Work on my WIP. Try an art quilt. Sew, Sew, Sew!
    Hope everyone's holidays are wonderful!

Well, next week will be a massive sewing room clean up so I can get in there in move around! Also, I'll be pitching out some of the free home dec fabric I keep bringing home from work. Then putting the stuff I want to keep for purses in a chest of drawers that is here in the computer room.

    Next, in no particular order:

~ continue work on my Sunny Lanes quilt

~ make another shabby chic chenille/patchwork baby blanket to put up on my etsy shop

~ make a purse out of some of that Sunbrella home dec fabric

~ continue the bluework blocks for a bluework/patchwork baby quilt to sell

~ pick out a pattern for a new baby girl expected in Feb.

~ finish the black and white sweatshirt jacket that I started back in 2006?

~ make one more block to add to my birthday blocks and get that quilt finished

~ make a landscape quilt for a friend at work from a photo she gave me.

Ohhhhh, it's overwhelming....I need to take just one thing at a time.

Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, and all the best in the New Year,

    Teresa

    Merry Christmas.

Lots to do - so little time. I'm praying that I can find the time to spend in my sewing room. I have at lest four quilts in various stages and one I'm hand quilting. I just found out I have sleep apnea and have a nice new CPAC machine so I'm hoping that with a better quality of sleep I'll have more energy. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.

Well I'm not as organized about as many of you seem to be about it, but I think I'll be devoting my quilting time this Spring to UFOs. I've been taking a few quilt classes during the last 2 yrs. I've had my own quilts I've been working on around that & before that. My design wall has gone from 5 layers of quilts on it, to (just, sigh) 3 layers thick. It'd be great to get back to those.

I've been out of work for the last couple of months, so aside from looking for a job, I've been doing a lot of quilts.

I had a color class for 4 sessions, generated 5 tops I need to sandwhich & quilt. Just had a class in French Braid (Chevron) technique, that's yielded a few large samples I'd like to trim up & bind.

Then there's a partially done Japanese Puzzle quilt it'd be great to resume.

Also, an old project of string diamonds which I'd assembled from scraps I'd swatched as a work study student at a budding textile/design research museum (a long time ago). Actually they're antique scraps from fabrics dated 1880s - 1940s-50s, should be nice if I ever get to it. I'd paper-pieced it from quilt magazine instructions (had no idea what I was doing).

Lastly, Santa (my quilting patron) just gave me the funds for a digital camera, the lack of which he knew was holding me back quilting-wise. So I'll wait 'til I'm back to work, then will be super excited to buy & learn to use a digital camera.

Lots of good, happy quilting plans. Happy holidays everybody!

I'm with Sue - my plan is to make a list! And, I know Suellen will be leading us to set goals this coming year. I'll think about it as I sit back with my feet up amid the clutter of wrapping paper and drink my Tom & Jerry.

Love and best holiday wishes to you all.

I would like to get my Christmas blocks put
together that I exchanged with gals from here.
I have many and I mean many tops that need to be
quilted. Getting a few of those done would be
    wonderful.
    Merry Christmas everyone.

One step at a time. The most pressing is a quilt I have promised to make for my friends daughter, The Quilted Cross by J. Machelle Watts. It looks like a challange. Then I have to bind a queen sized quilt I had quilted for my Granddaughter who graduates this year. Then I can have fun playing with my scraps. Jayne

I made a list a few days ago. But I can't find it. I started reading this post, came up with some of the projects. But now I have forgot them! go figure!LOL
I plan to continue with my Art quilting, embroidery stuff. They will be small quilts, I would like to try an Orange Peal maybe lap size. I have several challenges I am entered in.They keep me busy. I don't do cleanup. So the sewing room always looks the same. Too busy with stuff. Rene

At the moment I can not walk into my sewing room due to a 'blow up' bed used by my DGDs' over the holidays.
Once I get that stowed away I MUST clean the closet and organize the room.
I have a quilt I am hand quilting, a babyshower sig qult to make by February, a baby quilt to finish by March.
THEN I want to start on some of the scrappy blocks posted on this forum earlier.
MAY 2008 BE THE BEST QUILTING YEAR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, sounds like everyone will be very busy!

    I want to:
    1) Finish the Christmas stocking I've been making for DH for over two years now! This year I was rushing to get it done for Christmas and he said "NO! I'd rather wait 'till next year than have you rush. I'm going to have this the rest of my life." (So sweet!)

    2) Finish my two cow quilts.

    3) Made a nice, paper piece quilt for our bedroom.

    4) Make a wool quilt or a wool wall hanging.

    5) Make a Quilt of Valor and maybe some others for charity from my stash.

    And so much more....

I've learned it won't all get done with my work schedule, but it's good to dream!

So far I'm planning a sampler for my MIL, a challenge quilt for the local quilt show, and a 3-panel "stained glass" nativity wallhanging. I also want to make something for my brother, but not sure what yet.

Well I'm planning to get my 'new' machine fixed so I can finish the Birthday Blocks I started the other night - problem with the top thread catching at the bobbin
I've asked the question in another forum if anyone is planning a Syliva's Bridal Sampler - so I hope to hand piece blocks for this throughout the year (1 block hand stitched so far - after the machine failure)
I want to machine quilt the round robin quilt top (but hope to get the spare room sorted out so I can leave the machine etc up each night while I'm working on this)
I've a black / jewel top started - so need to finish this
plus baste and quilt the harvest coloured quilt top
and no doubt I'll see lots and lots of other patterns and ideas that I JUST HAVE TO DO
    same as everyone else
Anyway I hope everyone has a great new year
