What software is everybody using when they post their computer generated layout for help? I don't need all the bells and whistles; just something hopefully free that still gets the job done.

I'm trying to do it by hand on graph paper, and its such a mess that I don't think anybody else could decipher my drawing. And, to be honest, the whole scaling thing is more difficult than I thought it'd be.

This probably wouldn't be a big shock to my elementary school teachers who noted in my report cards that I had difficulty drawing within the lines.
