I can't speak to the finish, but we ordered our cherry Kraftmaid's through HD and are very pleased.
Yes, we have a few doors that we will probably have them swap out, but that's going to happen, and since it's "normal course of business", we're still very pleased.

We also contracted the installer through HD because we wanted one throat to choke. The installer has been super so far. They arrived the day after the cabinets were delivered to do their inventory (Wednesday), and they arrived the following Tuesday to begin the installation.

So far...couldn't be more pleased.

I have Kraftmaid Thornton doors in canvas. They were ordered through HD and arrived this past Thursday. Our contractor is on another job and will be here in 2 weeks to start. I opened one door so far just to see (we will open and inspect the rest in the next week or so if the weather permits). I love the door style and the color!!!!I did post on here a question about how picky to be b/c they are a painted door and the door style (4 pieces put together to make the frame) may lend itself to some hairlines where those pieces come together. Sorry I don't have pics yet - 3 weeks I will have some. Hope this info helps.

By the way our order arrived very early. Took about 2 1/2 weeks from order to delivery and were were a good size order.

That's great that they came so fast. They told me it would be 4-6 weeks. What are you doing for countertop, floor and backsplash?
HD is calling to set up an appointment to measure. We have a very small kitchen and I'm not sure what to expect for price. Do you mind sharing the size of your kitchen and price for cabs to give me an idea? I know it's an upcharge for painted finish.
