or your personality?

while our son is on vacation. He's a 3 month old Boston terrier.

I just love looking at all these furkids. We had company for dinner the other night and were talking about a home not being a home without furbabies. And, it's good our company felt that way because in addition to my two (doxy and golden) I was also furkid sitting a lab and a catahoula...my "granddogs"!!!

My "BB"... my "Bree"... "matches" our new home better than any dog I've ever had.....

LOL! The descriptions are cracking me up!

Gorgeous pets all around. Looking at these pics is making want another one...

Only in that every room can benefit from a grounding touch of black. And believe me, he's in every room...wherever I am, he's always there.

Archie fits in with my eclectic style:

momto4boys - I see someone else loves their "BoBo".

Here is my Riley and here BoBo on our breakfast room rug. She also matches our study.

pesky1 - Did your angels really pull down the curtains? Last month during a thunderstorm, Riley tore up 4 sets of wood blinds.

    cliff_and_joann - Lovely photo. :)

kats - Your kitchen is VERY nice and your Bree seems to love it.

kad2 - I have seen your dogs in shows, but have never really known anyone that had them. Do yours show?

amysrq - My dog is the same way. She is also in about every photo I take. :)

No, she doesn't match the decor, but sometimes she's the decorator!

ideefixe, I think that I have the small version of your Archie. Here is a picture of our wire haired fox terrier puppy, Jake. This was taken on the day that we got him. He is now 13 weeks old. He definitely matches my 10 year old son's personality.

These are hilarious!!! I love Happytobehome's decorator---for her house but not mine, LOL!! She's is adorable!!

This is my Duke! He coordinates with my walls AND the floors!

Our Sophie doesn't match the decor at all, but she definitely fits my personality..always hungry, a tad bit lazy and really fugly when tired

Oh my goodness these are hilarious!!!! I have not had such a good laugh in months...thank-you, thank-you all!!

    This is too fun not to jump on board. My Weasley does match my family room...but he's not allowed on the furniture. {{!gwi}}

I have a big orange dog and a big orange couch. Lola, the GSD, has a little red but she is surpisingly unobtrusive so sometimes I don't "see" her...especially if she's laying in my garden! #@*!

ronniroo - Thought you might like to see a photo of my daughter and her roommates dog. HER name is George and when visiting our home for the first time, she walked into the study, plopped up on the love seat and looked like she was saying....

I love these photos! I never thought about it before but my dogs Carmel and Napoleon do match my house!

Josephina has her own running theme in my house- and I'm not nearly capturing all the lizards!

The subject of decorating and dogs makes me soooooooooooo sleepy:

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Nope, they don't match my decor one bit, but I love 'em anyway.

    {{gwi:320002}}

Joanne - Have you noticed if Dante sheds? Ours shed so much and I've thought about getting a Boston Terrier the next time.

    Laurie

Your dog looks so comfy. :)

Mine do too, and I found more matching.

Laurie, Dante sheds very little...my Beagle sheds like crazy. There is a big difference between the two breeds
as far as shedding is concerned.
My son has a Boston named Max, he was at a parade last fall and was approached by a man that thought Max was gorgeous and was looking for a male Boston to mate with his female Boston. he offered the pick of the litter to my son. My son agreed and they began setting up weekend play dates for the two dogs.
The female Katie is small, sweet and adorable. Our son bought her to our house and she immediately jumped on our lap and settled in. I just fell in love with her.
So Dante is Max's son. Our other son has Dante. So now both sons have Bostons ... actually Dante is our great-grandson. :) On Fathers day we had a BBQ at my sons house,
and Dante bought a Father's day gift for Max!

my grandpuppy Max on the left and his lady friend
Katie on the right. She had 5 pups, the remaining pups all went to family members.

    Meet The Parents....

I want to mention that Bostons are very good with small children.

    Dante and his master...

Joann - Thank you so much for the information! Your backyard looks like paradise. Can you tell me what the purplish/red plant is to the left of the pier?

amylville - What kind of dog is your biggest one? I've always thought they were such pretty dogs, but I never knew what they were.

    Laurie

Thanks Laurie, my DH is a gardening nut, and plants for color and texture in the garden.
The red /purplish plant is a Japanese Red Maple, we have three of them worked into the landscape. They are my favorite trees.
We have a larger one, behind the walking stick tree, that is a weeping Japanese Maple, and another in the front of the house.

cliff_and_joann - I can't get over your beautiful photography skills (subjects, too!)

I have always loved Boston Terriers for their looks, but my DH doesn't like them for some reason. During a trip two weeks ago, we saw two adorable dogs (an adult with a puppy) playing on the beach. At first glance, I thought them to be BT's, but found out they were French Bull dogs, a little chunkier than the BT. My DH even liked them. See how cute they are!

I don't have any dogs but I have two kitties...

Mossimo aka Mossy - i think coordinates well

    {{!gwi}}

Sylvester aka Shorty - he doesn't really but i wanted to post him anyhow! he can be the touch of black in a room.

    Only in winter

    He doesn't come in eggplant.

Since right now our floor decor is plywood, Maggie is just confused!

but we do love her and she is totally spoiled!

newhomebuilder, every time I open this thread I get such a chuckle out of your photo of the dog sitting - too cute.

Mistybear, I am still laughing twenty four hours later!!!! The look on that dogs' face is "priceless"!!
I love this thread, please don't stop.
    Thanks everyone for posting.

Oh wait, I forgot, if you look close you can see an oil painting of Bailey that our DD painted 2 years ago, So I guess she matches pretty well after all!

These are too cute ... mine don't match either.

Lily ... claimed my old bed

Bailey the cat, rules the house ..

No, we have a bullmastiff. She is huge. :) She stays outside but since it is so hot, she comes in & out.
    Bonnie

    Our dogs are our decor!!!!!

The pic isn't crooked on the wall that's my photo skills.

Oh, would would Caesar Milan say about all these dogs sitting on chairs and sleeping in beds like people!!!!!

wigardenerwannabe - George sits like that in the back of the car too. She doesn't look out the side windows, or paces back and forth, like other dogs. She looks straight ahead at the road, like people do. The only time I have seen her look sideways is when we went parallel to a bridge that had lights along the top.

cooperbailey - Your DD has real talent. That portrait is wonderful!

newhomebuilder- Sophie ALWAYS sits like George when she's in the house... but in the car, she crawls up behind the back seat and flops down on the tiny ledge back there crammed up against the rear window.... 45 pounds of bulldog wedged next to the window (and all her fat and skin flopping down over the back of the seat, looking like a brindle/white marshmallow we left in the car too long and it melted, LOL).

I was just consulting with my artist dude (doing my walls since I broke my arm doing them myself). He and his wife are amazing. SHe's going to be painting the monkeys in DS's room and a lion etc.

So as to the animals matching our decor...They inspire it :) Our red cats (orange) and our red son (orange hair) and me (orange as well) all go well with our autumn colors. And we're having a picture painted on the cat room door (it's about 4' tall) which was going to be a take on the "Dogs playing poker" with the two orange cats playing poker...but now we're getting a puppy (next week). He will be added to the door as the dealer :) He's white....I don't do white, but I guess I can try :oP

no, she clashes, big time !!!!!!!!!!!!

    ronniroo - A marshmallow...too funny!

    bloobird - Beautiful dogs!

igloochic - Sorry about your arm. I like your orange and white family. :) We use to have an orange cat. :(

Bloobird...a handsome pair as well! It is nice to see working Koms doing what they were meant to do! We no longer show ours, they are 9 now but both are champions. We are showing the Puli, though, in confirmation, agility and obedience. Not as active in the sport at this time in our lives but still like to dabble a little.

Great pictures everyone! I love seeing them all. My Siamese had to point out to me that he DOES indeed match the decor of our sunroom. Blue and chocolate may be heading on its way out in the design world but there is still something to be said for the combo, at least in the cat world! (sorry about size...can't seem to figure out how to resize)

Of all the beautiful homes, of which there are many, the pets are even better.

This picture will explain to you a couple things: (1) Why I do not post pictures, because I cannot take pictures because I cannot focus since I have optic neuritis (the worst part of multiple sclerosis for me), and (2) that I don't always have towels draped on the furniture, but since Derry came to live here, towels here and there and everywhere are a must to catch the drool.

Well, that was the wrong photograph, but Derry is in this one. See if you can find her, she's wearing camouflage (color of the floors and furnishings).

    Brady & Riley certainly do!

Such cute furbabies ( and iguana)! Igloochic, your new dog is cute, but your DS is flat out adorable!
Texashottie, I have the other half of the Swiss Family Robinson duo of Duke . . . and Turk! OK, so those were Great Danes and ours are (great)Dobies . . . small diff ;^P
Here's my big boy, Turk, who blends in pretty well, especially with our brick floors and leather sofa:
    {{!gwi}}

My sweet Chloe, on the other hand, doesn't match or blend in , but she's stolen our hearts . . .Tibetan Spaniels are the sweetest little dogs.

I'm glad this feel good thread hasn't ended... All the beautiful pets makes me smile and warms my heart, especially all the fur faces on the furniture!
Here's our love bird -- CRYBABY.

Cooperbailey, your daughters painting is wonderful, she has real talent.

    Joann

NHB and Joann, thanks she is blessed with real talent! And she is a gem of a young woman! Our house is filled with her paintings! We are so lucky.

Squeak, the Devon Rex kitty, blends nicely into the duvet cover. Her new best friend, Lily (baby Devon Rex) ... not so much! IÂd say theyÂve bonded, wouldnÂt you?!

George the Boxer coordinates beautifully with the family room sofa. Again, Lily, not so much !

The color of my new dining room is 'French Bulldog' black, the runner for the stairs was chosen specifically because the dogs like to guard (I use that term very loosely) from the landing and we have coordinating beds scattered throughout the house. My pimped out minivan is black with a personalized Frogdog plate and Harley is the poster child for the labels on our homemade wine.

So I guess the answer is a resounding yes.

I'm the neighborhood dog freak - love these pictures, but always, always have a soft spot for the short noses - especially that little black pug!

Little Dixie Girl loves to snuggle in bed -

My darling Dundee patiently waits for a treat -

And both my Westies love lap time with their momma!

Hm...I don't think Baxter matches my home.

BUT, I think he looks smashing at work, where he's known as "CavDog". :)

He does kind of match, particularly the painting behind him, if you can see it in that light. He really matches the sleeper couch now in the guest bedroom. I think he's a little blurry because he rushes the camera. Vanity, thy name is budgie.

Here is a link that might be useful: That bird

    Well, sometimes she did....

....and sometimes she didn't, but then again, that chair didn't match either....

Sweet Jayne is gone now and we miss her terribly.

The best decorating advice ever given to me was "buy your couch to match your dog."

Yep, ours is yellow and white.
