Weather, Glorious Weather!

How's your weather??? Here it TN, it is amazing that we had a low of 61 this morning. The last 3 days have been low humidity, lower temps and now even lower lows. We came within one degree of a record. The sky has been crystal clear. We have a mountain view from our front and it was so clear and beautiful this morning.

Yes, we've had more rain this summer than I can remember, but because of that, we've had lower overall temps and everything is soooo lush and beautiful! My "tulip" tree (star magnolia I believe) is blooming for the third time! Things seem to have grown by leaps and bounds this year. Many years, by this time we are in a drought situation or at the least, our grass is brown, etc.

I believe we have only had 3 or 4 days in the 90s this summer and that is just unheard of for our area.

Spring is my favorite, followed by fall, but I like summer also. We just sometimes have to plan around heat/humidity and make sure we get in LOTS of water activities during the summer. This summer is sooo different, pleasantly so.

Are ya'll experiencing this strange weather too? Makes you wonder what the fall/winter holds. Although we have already seen a striped wooly worm - early for that - which signifies a short/mild winter. If you believe in that. LOL

Yes...stranger and stranger. We had been in a drought since 2007 !! No let up at all till this Spring and Summer. We too have had unusually cool temps in the evening and breezes. Today it is 91 but not miserable out at all. By this time every Summer the pool water is hot :) But this year it is still very refreshing. Our yard and garden are thick...weeds too LOL. But all in all I will take it for sure. Look forward to hearing more "weather reports" . c

Weather is fanastic here in Kentucky about 4 hours north of you (see me waving). Feels like September!.
We were sitting out late Saturday night on DD's porch and needed a cozy sweat shirt.

The air is so clear that everything takes on a different color :). We also have had a lot of rain so everything is LUSH green.

    Good weather for campint Tina!

A week ago we were sweltering in temperatures over 90 degrees and 100% humidity. Which probably doesn't sound so bad to those of you from the south, but up here in New England, where most houses don't have central air conditioning and were built to keep the heat in, not out, it was miserable.

But the past week, the humidity's been lower, the nights have cooled off to the low 60s and high 50s and I feel like a human being again. Even the apparent non-stop rain doesn't bother me any more.

You're welcome, TIna - I sent that weather to you from Chicago! It's been glorious here, too and we actually did break records 2 x over the weekend. Windows are wide open, breezes are blowing in, the air is fresh - love it! And we're right there with you on the above average rain making everything so full and green - it's been a great gardening year.

We have had a very odd spring and summer in mid-coast Maine. We had over 8" of rain in June with cool temperatures, then July came blasting in and it has been HOT and humid until last week.

The rain and cool temps have been great for some plants, and the weeds especially love it, but my vegetable garden is suffering. There is Late Blight in neighboring states and I am really hoping it doesn't hit my tomatoes for the third time in 4 years.

Same thing here in Carolinas as you have tinan. Today was finally a day where it didn't rain. Even the Today Show was in the area covering flooding from heavy rains on Sat.
