My condo is oak strip and I had it ebonized (custom stain in ebony, walnut and jacobean) it was very difficult to get the color deep, and it requires a quick dust mop almost every day, but in a place like this (high ceilings and just a couple, big rooms) I would definitely do it again.

Definitely the ceramic tile on my kitchen floors.
Still love it after 10 years. Every time I mop it, it just makes me smile because it still looks brand new.

We have copper penny tiles in the kids' bathroom in the house we are (literally) moving out of tomorrow... will miss that bathroom so much... am planning to use the same tiles when we get around to renovating the bathrooms in the new house!!

It would be gray carpeting (I have that now) but it would be top of the line. I love carpeting. ;~]

My bathroom tile. The only good thing about having small bathrooms(60's ranch) is that other people's leftover remodeling remnants can pretty much tile your whole bathroom! So I scored some black and white marble mosaic tiles and 12 x 12 marble tiles, some black, some white, on Craigslist and was able to redo my bathroom in a classic black and white color scheme. It makes me happy every time I see it because I know I could never have afforded that tile retail.

I probably should say my new wide-plank hardwood floors and I do love them, but my favorite floor is still my oldest - the dark slate tile floor in my kitchen. It hides everything, is virtually indestructible, and I love how rustic it looks.

We are not responsible for them, but the original Douglas Fir floors that are in our whole house, except kitchen and bathrooms. When we moved in we had them sanded and refinished with just polyurethane, so you can see every bit of the beautiful grain. They make me smile all the time.

Definitely the kitchen tile floor - it's brown tones w enough variation to make it look interesting, and replaced a white tile with white grout floor that I could never keep clean in a million years.

Grout on newer floor is the color of dirt, LOL.

I just got Brazilian Walnut in a few bedrooms on my second floor but I really love the Cumaru on the first floor.

Some gorgeous floors shown above. I actually love all the floors in our home except the carpet in the bedrooms. That will some day be replaced with hardwood, but with all the other floors (hardwood, marble and ceramic tile) that needed to be installed, by my hubby, he wanted a break and had carpet installed.
I guess the pattern and the veining on this marble combo would be my favorite. More so because it was one of those happy surprises that come from a goof. The was the first flooring we'd purchased and didn't think to buy extra. We knew better, just didn't do it. HoDe was out of the premixed mortar that hubby had used for other tiles he'd laid and was happy with, so I talked him into mixing his own. How hard could it be, right? Well we heard later that the type we chose is even a bit tough for the pros to always get right. Some of the tiles loosened and broke when walked on. We searched high and low for matching marble to no avail. Then I saw the darker tile at Lowe's and thought we should take some home and see if in our lighting they worked well together. Hubby wanted to just replace them all, but once we found a way to lay them out, after he carefully removed the original tiles, he loved it.
