I Mixed: uppers inset for "the look", bases full overlay for these reasons- pull outs could be larger without door in the way; easier to accomplish a good-looking paneled DW; allowed raised panels on some narrow doors where otherwise impossible; saved a small amt of money.

Hmmm, I was wondering about the size. I feel like my lowers are getting squished and although I know there's disagreement about whether insets result in lost space, it seems that both insets and partial overlap would....

I did find some earlier photos so I can see the uppers, which look great! But nothing with the lowers and the uppers together completed.

Thanks berryberry, what I'm looking for is mixtures of inset and non-inset in the same cabinets.

We live in a 100 yr old house so I really wanted inset cabinets for a period look however, because the kitchen is on the small side, I didn't want to lose all of that drawer space to framed cabinets. I saw a kitchen display in a high end store that showed inset uppers with frameless base cabs. It looked great so that's what I'm doing. All drawer bases on the bottom will be frameless with 5 piece shaker style drawers and the one wall of uppers will be inset in the same painted shaker style.
