Help with window screens on old wood windows

I have a mid century ranch with what appear to be original wood windows. I want to put screens on. There appears to be some sort of fasteners at the top (painted over). I don't see anything at the bottom other than two small divets, maybe where the bottom fastener might go.

I would like to do a half screen, but am not sure if that is workable or attractive. Thoughts? I will post pictures of various close ups to give you a good idea.

If I am doing a full screen, how do I attach it? I am lost on all the different fastener choices. I would like the screen to be as snug as possible to keep bugs out.

Also, thinking of getting bettervue to keep the screens inconspicuous. Thoughts?
