What do you think of this bed for my master bedroom???

Found it at a really great price at JC Penny. Here is the bedroom.

Thanks!

Oh, the other option is using a French Provincial headboard that I currently have and painting it the color of the 2 dressers.

It's attractive but I think that it would overpower your small bedroom - and the foot board would close things up even more.

I agree with adriennemb about the footboard closing things up too much. Could you use it without the footboard? I think the openness of the metal headboard is actually a good way to go in a small space. Any possibility that one of your chest of drawers could fit into a closet so as to give more space in the room?

Thanks for the responses. I found it online, and I am not sure if they will even know if it can be used without the footboard. I will look for something that does not have a footboard. Do you think that a padded headboard will look good also, or will the openness of the metal one be best?

@sujafr, Unfortunately, I do not have space in the closets to put the chest of drawers.

    Thanks!

The bed is gorgeous but I agree it may be too much for your size room. I'd not get another silver piece as that would detract from the ones you have.
I think a padded black headboard would be perfect.

I would look for a silver iron headboard only with no footboard. I have a small room also and only went with a headboard. If you really love the headboard, then see if it can be sold without the footboard

Love the bed, but I think it may be too big for your room. I would look for something similar (open scrollwork iron headboard only). Looking at the picture you posted of the bed in it's advertisement setting, it is set up in what looks to be a very large room. Also, do think the metal open scrolled headboard would look better than an upholstered headboard since the room is on the smaller side. I've seen similar headboards recently when shopping in a mattress retail chain and they were priced very reasonably.

I love the style, but we also have a smaller BR and cannot have a footboard. In our guest room, I am constantly banging into the footboard when I go in there. I agree on a metal headboard.

There is a wonderful thrift store in my area that sells a lot of JCP liquidation items and I have seen the bed as well as the matching pieces. They are really nice for the price.

I would definitely check on being able to use the bed without the footboard.

I would also try to get the matching night stand to use instead of your french provincial stand. Is the table the fan is on a matching french provincial turned sideways?? Can you get by with just one night stand? If not, perhaps, a different, narrow leggy table, dark wood or wrought iron would work. Every piece on the bed wall would be open, airy looking.

Have you made sure that your closet has a great built-in organizer to make the best use of your space? Go through all your clothes to make sure you only have what you're actually wearing. (I need to do that right now.) I'm trying to find ways to remove one of your dressers. :-)

Since things look a bit crowded with this layout--perhaps you can lay this out on paper or an online room design site to see other options. Maybe even consider a platform bed with drawers below it so you could reduce the need for both dressers if thinning your closets didn't do that. That would allow more room for the chair to fit into a corner, so you can get past it comfortably.

If this is the only layout for the bed to fit, then try to find a really narrow nightstand to replace the one turned. Check your local CL for them.

Then I think an open style black iron headboard might be a bit better looking than the upholstered one, though I think if the upholstered one weren't massive, and you remove a dresser, it might work also. It seems like it might be too much big dark spots otherwise since on my monitor, your dressers are looking black. Good luck!

Thank you all! It does make sense that both a headboard and foot-board will be too big for the room so I am looking for just the headboard. I do have the matching French Provincial headboard which is wood, but open, so I can paint that if I have trouble finding a metal one.

@tuesday, Yes, the table is turned sideways until I can find a smaller one - I love the wrought iron idea and I think it will look great with an open scrollwork headboard so I will keep my eyes open for that. I am also going to replace DH's ugly fan (which he says he must have) with a nicer one - that task is closer to the bottom of the list.

@sujafr, I have purged, and i am constantly doing that. I do agree, my closet needs to be reconfigured a bit, but even with that, I don't know how much more space I will have in there. Do you think removing the chair will help? I can definitely move it out of the room. The dressers are actually a dark grey, with a silver glaze.

Again, thank you all for your input. It is greatly appreciated.
