Can you help me pick a color for cherry furniture?

I need to paint a guest room and it will have a cherry daybed and dresser in it. The cherry is the warm color, with reddish undertones. I am notoriously bad at choosing neutral browns, my beiges end up pink, my neutral browns end up green.

I have listed some colors that I am looking at on the Sherwin Williams Fan Deck. Are any of them winners, or do you have a better color in mind?

Thank you so much, I hope to buy paint this weekend.

I haven't used those colors, myself, but the top three strips are reading almost purple on my monitor.

People have had good luck with your last strip, Latte and Kilim Beige, especially.

I hear you. Seems like very time I pick out a neutral, there's a peach or pink undertone. I'm betting Benjamin Moore's "Natural Linen" is the way to go. Look at redroze's post in this thread.

Here is a link that might be useful: Natural Linen

Yes, sometimes monitors can cause colors to be off.

I like the latte as well, just scared to pull the trigger on a color that might not work with the cherry.

    I am welcoming all suggestions.

Just remember this, pastels steal the thunder from beautiful cherry wood and make it look anemic and dark colors enhance and give it a full facial, makeup and all. It's the lipstick and rouge that we redheads need to look alive.

None of those are working for me with the wood. I think most have too much pink in them. Can you put Dromedary Camel next the wood and post a picture?

If this were my room, I'd ditch the entire notion of beige entirely - I think beige in general makes cherry look kind of blah. Soft yellows, slatey blues, and sage greens all look just smashing with cherry and really "oomph it up" because then you're playing with those lovely red undertones in the wood. (Remember your color wheel!) In my previous house, I had a cherry bedroom set in the guest room with pale lemon walls and a yellow-white-navy color scheme and got many, many compliments on it. If you're absolutely 100%-will-not-be-budged-for-love-nor-money on something in the beige genre, I'd lean toward ones with a really distinct gray-green undertone.

My opinion, of course, and worth every cent you paid for it. :-)

On my thread, "Please click on this link," I'm about to post a pic of F&B "Blue-Grey," which I think might go very well with cherry. Of course, this would take you in a completely different direction, but. . . .

If you want beige neutral, I would vote for Sands of Time or Latte as they are warmer beiges that blend with the warm cherry. I have Sand Dollar in several rooms and it's one of those warm beiges that reflect the ambient light, sometimes looking peachy, sometimes gold and sometimes taupe, depending on the light source.

SW Blonde also looks great with cherry. Or go across the color wheel and try something like SW Grassland, Svelte Sage or Softened Green. They are "grayed greens" and I think they look beautiful with cherry.

Well, we tried several of the colors suggested in this forum today, and in the room, with the lighting and the furniture, Latte looks the best and gives us a totally neutral palette to work with.

You guys are great, thank you so much!!!

I can't read the name, but I like the last pic and #6019 best. I agree that most are too pink. We chose a caramel color with our cherry cabinets in our kitchen, it looks fantastic.
